Over the past few days, I realized that something was wrong with my gas furnace, however the lake house wasn’t being heated constantly and I was hearing the gas furnace run in unusual patterns, but i’m never in my house during the afternoon because I’m at work, so I wasn’t sure how long the issue was occuring.
I didn’t remember hearing the gas furnace run periodically the previous weekend, so I was starting to think that the issue was recent.
I did the only thing I knew to do and I reached out to the HVAC business. I told them that some rooms were heated to a weird temperature and that the gas furnace was running periodically. I also told the HVAC company that it sounded like my gas furnace was cutting on and cutting off randomly, but when the HVAC professional arrived, she was ready to repair my gas furnace to find the issue. She confirmed my belief that the concerns I was experiencing and she immediately told myself and others that she assumed it was the temperature control. This answer surprised myself and others because I wasn’t considering the temperature control issue! After running a few tests, she confirmed that the temperature control was the issue. According to him, the temperature control wasn’t getting an accurate study of the rooms in and around the house, which was causing my gas furnace to run incorrectly. The gas furnace wasn’t sure if it should be heating or not. The HVAC professional recalibrated my temperature control and everything began working respectfully. I’m thankful that I hired an HVAC professional because I would have never known that my temperature control was causing my gas furnace to run inefficiently.
