Seemed that my agent was involved in a scam

I live in a state that is filled with scammers, criminals, thieves, and fraudsters. All of us have the highest per-capita rate of senior citizens and retirees, which evidently attracts the worst people in civilization looking to con older folks out of their money. But these bandits are not discriminatory toward potential victims and will readily steal from people of all ages. My cousin learned this the tough way when she was the victim of a wire fraud scam in university. She was attempting to rent a household in a state that she was moving to for graduate school and she was swindled by someone posing as a common property owner. Sandra is the most PC savvy woman in the family, so for her to get scammed in this way was a major surprise for us all. She tried to get a real estate lawyer involved before discovering that the money was eventually wired to an international account in Afganistan of all locales. Sadly, I guess I’m also going to need a real estate lawyer because I think that our real estate agent was involved in a scam of some sort. I think they conspired with the household’s seller to get the home to sell at the highest value possible. The real estate agent gets a percentage of the total purchase price of the household, so it’s within their best interest for this number to be as high as possible. I genuinely hope the real estate lawyer can help me figure out the best way to move forward with getting justice regarding this particular scam. Hopefully our attorney will only offer to take a portion of the winnings if they’re successful.
