My husband is one of those people who resist change.
I have to force him to try new things. It’s always a battle, but he ends up loving it. There are moments I see him enjoying things I’ve forced him to do and feel like laughing out loud. The other day, I felt I wanted to experience a new place. So, I brought up a discussion we had before about relocating. We talked about moving to a coastal area, and I fought for us to do so. Eventually, he relented, and we bought a house by the beach. The area was lovely, with a natural breeze always blowing into the house. We rarely had to use the cooling unit to keep the house cool. But, there was a time in summer during a heatwave when we had to use the cooling unit. Living in such a place transformed my husband into a surfer. He was always catching waves and living his best life. Just another thing I had to force him to do practically. We got contacts from a neighbor for an HVAC business in the area. We wanted them to come and inspect the cooling unit in the house. We felt it was better to install a heat pump instead like the one we had in our previous home. The HVAC technician agreed that a heat pump would be ideal. Since we didn’t get harsh winters, the unit was sufficient enough to keep us warm. After the installation, we got to test the heat pump in winter and loved how warm the house felt.
