Being super pregnant at the end of August and the beginning of September was certainly not the plan.
But that’s how it goes when you try to plan around Mother Nature.
She showed me just who was making the plans. Where I live, you definitely don’t want to be big and pregnant during the summer months. We have great residential HVAC but still, this summer was miserable. If this is the way it’s going to go for me being pregnant, then I think that this may be a one and done situation. We wanted to get pregnant toward the middle of July. That was the plan. And we even talked to the doctor about it. I hate going to the doctor and sitting in that exam room with the HVAC cooling going crazy and me wearing a paper gown. The doctor, of course, gave us exactly zero guarantees. She did give us the same sort of data that we found about how long it generally takes to get pregnant after coming off the pill. So that’s what we based our planning on with this baby. The heat pump had come on for the first time last winter when I found out I was pregnant. And I’d been off the pill for maybe two weeks. Now, I’m on bed rest and it’s so hot and humid outside that I feel like I can’t get enough from the central air conditioning in my home. At least I have the smart thermostat app on my phone. That makes changing the thermostat setting super easy while I’m on bed rest.
