When the Heating and A/C corporation rep told me I needed a different furnace, I knew I could not afford it. He started giving me some suggestions on more current furnaces, and when I saw the prices, I almost wept. There was no way that I was going to find enough funding for a more current furnace when it was going to cost me over $5000. While we were discussing the costs, he told me they have some used heating systems I may be interested in. I could not suss out why anyone would buy a used furnace. He said that the furnace is only gently used, which meant they were brand current and delivered to the wrong client, or someone did not like it. He said they seldom sell a used furnace, that is more than 1 year old. They refurbish the furnace and put it back to the original condition. The price of the refurbished/used furnace was almost half the price of buying a brand-new furnace. I asked how long it would take before the furnace would be delivered and installed, and he told me they could do it within a day or multiple. I was stoked that I could have the furnace by the end of the weekend, however I still had the major problem of coming up with payment.
