When my cousin said she wanted a winter anniversary, my friend and I thought she was kidding.
I kept asking her why she thought it was a good idea to leave us looking for heat or standing in front of the heater, and she said it would give us more motivation to keep dancing.
She just made sure that the parents didn’t bring their kids and that the elderly aunties weren’t invited because they all had arthritis and the cold wouldn’t help them. I volunteered to help find a location so that my friend and I wouldn’t be stuck in an old hall that needed boiler maintenance in the middle of the anniversary. I started researching hotels. The first one had a heating system, but it was due for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance on the day my friend and I wanted to have the event, and that evening was already booked. I saw more modern equipment, like the hybrid heating system that combined the heating system and the heater replacement. My cousin really disliked that site. The site she wanted didn’t have heat and air conditioning, and my friend and I fought about it because it would be mean to put people there. I found another with a heat pump replacement, but it only covered a portion of the property. It was a difficult trip. I almost had the heating company recommend hotels with the best heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. I finally got to ask the person from the heating company who came to my condo for heater maintenance to recommend a site with great heating. The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) repairman knew of a place my friend and I hadn’t thought to look at yet, and their hallway had hydronic heating, which means radiant floors! Perfection. The anniversary was better than my friend and I could have imagined, and I finally understood why my cousin was still obsessed with Elsa. My friend and I had a fairytale anniversary.
