I didn’t want the contractor to hire the company we used for our HVAC system.
We did a lot of research before hiring the contractor who was going to build our house.
We did research on which plumbing company to use, and who would do the electrical work. I didn’t know why he thought we would just allow him to bring someone in from the HVAC company on his word alone. He was angry at us for not allowing his people to do the plumbing and electrical work, so why would he think we would allow him to use ‘his guys’ for the HVAC. We called several HVAC contractors and had four quotes before considering hiring anyone to do our HVAC system. I thought the contractor was going to quit when I told him we found the HVAC company we wanted. They gave us an excellent quote for the HVAC system and gave us several options. They were able to look up our house plans on a website, which gave them all the information they needed on what size HVAC system we would potentially need, and we hired them. The contractor told us we were carrying this whole thing too far. We hired him to do a job, and we agreed we had. We wanted him to build us the house of our dreams, but it was just the house. Any other contractor needed would be up to us to hire, like we hired him. He huffed and puffed and tried to tell us we were asking for too much, but after an hour, he was calling us. He said the HVAC contractor wanted to meet us at the house.
