Just like the way I handle things inside the air conditioned office, I love to find solutions that work. I’m a firm believer that having many stakeholders involved makes results better. This was the kind of strategy I applied for my family when it came to the Heating & Air Conditioning cooling at home. We live in an area where the heat is a huge deal. For sure, an a/c is a must have here. But one has to be careful not to misuse the heating and cooling unit as this can easily result in extreme cost. But talking, explaining and pleading hadn’t gotten me anywhere when it comes to consistency of air conditioning in my home. So I decided to involve everyone in a bid to solve the high costs of Heating & cooling we’d been experiencing. The initial step was giving everyone rules to follow without fail. Usually, each year we go on a trip, and I’m usually controlling things when they want to buy stuff. So this year, I gave the family an ultimatum. All the cash we saved on Heating & cooling throughout the year will be used for our family trip at the end of summer. And just like that the control device stayed right where it was supposed to be. All I had to do was program the thermostat at the beginning of summer time and stayed untouched all through. I also kept to my word, and tracked tee savings all summer time as we spent it out during our summer trip this year.
