It moves heat energy from a single place to another
I moved away from the cold for a reason. Sure, having a task lined up and a promotion at that sure added to my motivation. But having been born and raised with brutal winters, I was ready for a change. And I never honestly got the whole Wintertide thing anyway. Going outside wasn’t my thing and so I ended up inside the Heating and Air Conditioning heating of the condo all winter. Those winters go for minimum five absolutely cold weeks. That’s a lot of time spent inside with the gas furnace cranking. So moving to the south was consistently on my radar. I even tried to go to university inside all that Heating and Air Conditioning cooling down south. But dad was never going to help spend my money for out of state tuition. That meant a state school and all the radiant heat I could stand inside a dorm room for four years. When I was provided the promotion and the option to work in the zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning of our southern office, I jumped at it. Honestly, it was the best decision of my life. I miss my condo region in a variety of cultural and regional ways although I sure don’t miss that gas furnace. These afternoons, I get both my heating and cooling from a single source. The heat pump is king around this region and it’s not even close. The heat pump is so perfectly designed for this application. It moves heat energy from a single place to another. So in our homes, it’s moving the heat energy out of the condo so cooler air can take its place and then lower the temperature.
