I really can’t stress how important it is to tighten up your home especially before the winter season approaches.
It’s necessary to make sure your insulation is on point.
If you have issues with your insulation, you’re going to want to add extra insulation and make sure everything is good to go before things start to become absolutely miserable in the winter season. If you have your heating escaping from the home in the winter, your heating bills are going to skyrocket. This is also the case in the cooling season of course, so make sure everything is good to go before the hot season arrives as well. I actually know from my personal experience how awful things are if you don’t tighten things up. When my wife and I moved into our home, we moved in at the start of winter. We didn’t really check into the insulation very much, but fortunately it wasn’t that bad. The thing is, we didn’t tighten up the home, we only had a furnace tune-up and thought we’d be alright even though the HVAC professional himself said we should make sure to put plastic on the windows and tighten up the doors. He said adding some extra insulation wouldn’t hurt either. But no, we went into the winter thinking we didn’t have to worry about all of that. When we saw our first heating bill though, we rushed to make sure everything was properly insulated. We put plastic on all the windows and tightened up the doors. The following heating bill was way lower and we were so thankful for that.
