Dad and I have always been close.

He’s always made it a point to maintain a close relationship. When I was in college, dad would fly out to see me every 2 months, and I was quite happy to see him. But, he slowed down traveling after falling ill. Last year, dad planned a trip to see my new home, and my step-mom was driving him over. I was so happy to show them my new space and even made up their guest room. On the day they were due to arrive, I was experiencing a problem with the AC in my home. It started by blowing out warm air from the vents despite being set to cool the space. I wasn’t sure why my AC was acting up since this was the first time I owned one. When dad and mom arrived, I was happy to welcome them, and they got settled. Later, I asked dad if he could take a look at my AC unit since it wasn’t working properly. Dad did inspect the air conditioner and noticed moisture leaking from it. However, he wasn’t sure what the source was and asked me to contact an HVAC worker to take a better look. I have a service and repair agreement with a nearby HVAC business, so I called them. All their HVAC workers were out in the field, so we had to wait for 2 hours for someone to pass by. At exactly 2 pm on that hot summer day, an HVAC worker repaired the faulty air conditioner at my house. The moisture was leaking out because of a clogged drain line.
