I tapped the steering wheel impatiently.
- I was stuck in the middle of rush hour traffic, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, I could see dark clouds heading my way.
The last thing I wanted was for it to rain while I was driving, during rush hour. Not only that, but the last storm we had was pretty bad and caused a lot of wind and flood damage, and the last thing I needed was to worry about my central HVAC potentially being flooded again. I also still had one more errand to run, and that storm is going to make it more difficult than it needs to be. I began to drive to my last destination, a stop to pick up my repaired headphones, and just as I was beginning to think that it wasn’t going to rain, it started to rain down. The rain was so heavy it made it hard to see a few feet in front of me, and I was glad to finally park in the parking lot. I waited 20 minutes for the rain to subside a bit, and when it did, I ran inside the store. I still managed to become drenched, and my clothes were dripping with rain water. An umbrella didn’t help either, as the wind was whipping the rain around. I was incredibly cold, but the heating system in the store made me feel a lot better. I could tell the rain wasn’t going to let up, and since the furnace system in the store felt so good, I decided to stay for a while. I found a HVAC vent and sat under it to really feel the heater’s heated air. I felt much better after about 20 minutes, and was drying off a little bit.
