I increased the temperature on my thermostat

For the most part, I am certainly careful when it comes to using excess energy in my home, and I am trying my best to reduce my carbon footprint wherever I can.

I drive less than I did before, I recycle as well as have taken measures to reduce the waste that I create in my home.

In addition, I have also cut back on using my a/c. We need to use the air conditioning for comfort especially while I was in the warm season, but the a/c contributes a lot to global warming, due to the large amounts of electricity it takes to power the units, and some of the coolants used emit toxic gasses into the ozone, as you certainly already know, temperature change is becoming a major issue, and it will take all of us to play our parts in tackling this problem. We can’t repair everything, but we can make small changes in our lives to conserve energy. If you pay attention to your power bill, there are consistently tips on how to conserve more energy, and so even the power companies are well aware of the issue. In fact, my utility contractor constantly sends me emails on energy usage, and how to conserve as well as save money on my utility bill. I am already practicing most of the tips that they have advised; For instance, I have increased the temperature on my thermostat from 72 degrees to 78 degrees while I was in the afternoon. The Department of Energy recommends setting our thermostats to 77 degrees in the warm season. So, I am doing more than what is recommended. And to my surprise, setting my thermostat to 78 degrees is more comfortable than I thought it would be.
