I was performing some routine service on the Heating plus Air Conditioning unit in one of the house rentals that I manage.
I knew I could save a couple of bucks by performing the routine repair on my own.
While I was cleaning the A/C plus condenser, I noticed a small amount of mold inside of the machine. I wasn’t distraught with the amount of mold until I started taking the rest of the equipment apart. I knew that I had to contact a professional. I called a company that I assume plus trust; He came to the rental property to look at the A/C unit. He confirmed what I already suspected. The A/C unit was filled with mold. The mold extended through the house plus there was mold inside of the wall behind the section where the heat pump plus A/C unit were located. The problem with the mold was way worse than I expected plus the disfigures were quite severe. Insurance would only pay for disfigures to the wall plus I had to fork out 5 grand for a new heat pump plus ac. There was entirely no way to safely salvage the system after it had been riddled with mold for so long. I was planning to rent that unit that next month, even though I had to change my plans when I found out about the problems with the heating plus A/C unit. Those complications had to be addressed plus fixed before I could let anyone move to the property. That month was another loss of $1650 bucks that I couldn’t replace.
