I was at the police station because I was writing a paper about the police and their impact on society.
I would be spending a couple of nights at the station for research. The first time I went there, I was interviewing policemen at the station and could not ignore the buzzing from the heater. The quality of air was also nothing to write lake home about. I figured it had something to do with dirty oil furnace filters. I pointed it to the chief of police when I was interviewing him about creating good laboring conditions for the staff. The oil furnace/heater upgrade had been done about a decade ago and the heating repair was done about a year before. All this, I later found from the janitor when I complained about the freezing within the station. The heat and AC products looked neglected, and though the air was musky, the policemen seemed to be used to it. There was, but, a wireless temperature control for the boiler in the basement. The janitor had not noticed any recent furnace service in a year. Despite the neglect, the electric oil furnace was still laboring albeit not as efficiently. As we wrapped up dinnertime we heard loud bhang and all the officers removed their guns and crouched down. Every one of us later found out that it was the Heating and Air Conditioning system from the heating dealership. The Heating and Air Conditioning techs later said that the issue was from a worn-out component. The techs executed the Heating and Air Conditioning service system and also evaluated on the radiant heated floors in the bathrooms. It was an exhilarating experience that I will not forget and my research was spot on.
