The next toil assignment required my colleague and me to visit a small neighborhood for our research.
Since we would be there for 8 nights, the company had booked us into what my boss referred to as The Hamptons.
The neighborhood was in a freezing region, and the first thing I did was call the B&B to ask about their oil furnace/heater upgrade. The state and history of the heat and AC products from the reviews would either chop or make the deal, however I preferred to call the owner first before studying the comments to see if they were honest about the situation. The woman I talked to on the PC told me they had a good electric oil furnace. She assured me that she had the paperwork for their Heating and Air Conditioning service system and receipts from recent furnace service. She even went ahead to give me the heating dealership’s contacts if I needed to corroborate what she was saying. She sounded like an honest man, and there was no need for all that. The only knowledge I had about heating systems was from friends since my home was fitted with radiant heated floors, even though I did have a boiler for my sizzling water needs. The heating industry, especially where homes are concerned, was all modern to me because I grew up where Heating and Air Conditionings were not common since they were rarely necessary. Here, I l gained the importance of Heating and Air Conditioning tech when it came to heating repair and servicing. I remember when my neighbor told me that I needed to check my oil furnace filter, I asked him if I could do that from the wireless temperature control. To date, it remains a single of the most embarrassing situations.
