I was told that when the people I was with and I wanted to put outdoor lighting on the patio and our backyard; the people I was with and I needed to hire a licensed electrician, and i looked at the company and told him I thought all electricians were licensed… He explained that if the electrician works for a contracting corporation; they are licensed, there were some independent electricians who weren’t licensed, then without the license, they actually aren’t bonded and there could be a lot of mistakes that would be our responsibility to maintenance or sue the electrician, and once I asked him to give us the name of a licensed electrician, I should have known he would suggest that worked for his corporation.
I wasn’t being rude, even though I wanted more than 2 licensed electricians that would give me a quote for the job that needed done. The company offered me the name of 3 licensed electricians who specialized in outdoor lighting. It surprised me when all 3 quotes were close in price, and my partner and I chose the first name that was on the list, and he was also the one who worked for our company. I liked the man, and he was a professional. He showed us his license to prove he was a licensed electrician, and he showed us proof that he was bonded, however neither of the other two even hinted that they were licensed or bonded. When the outdoor lighting was completed, it was nicer than the people I was with and I had imagined. The patio looked care about a faerie garden, and there were lights along the walkway. I didn’t imagine it was going to be this appealing when I came up with the idea.
