- When temperatures hit record lows love that, there are certain things that a homeowner should do to prepare! For example, homeowners should cover their plants to protect them from the brutal weather or bring the potted a singles to an indoor space, and in addition, it is recommended to keep the heat on between 65 and 71 degrees for ideal indoor comfort… Lastly, plumbers recommend that you turn on the hot and cold faucets so that they drip to prevent the pipes from cold over.
Well because I wasn’t home, none of those things listed were executed, and sadly, some of our plants were destroyed due to the weather, however I also had a busted pipe and needed emergency plumbing service, thankfully, our acquaintance Karen was able to help with the situation because I wasn’t able to fly back house in time to take care of it myself. This was our first time having a broken pipe, so I wasn’t sure who to contact. If it wasn’t for Karen letting me assume that I should contact a plumber, I entirely would’ve called our utility dealer as they are the a singles I spend money the water bill to, at the time, and while in the panic of the situation, a plumber did not cross our mind. Anyway, Karen was able to contact a local plumbing dealer online that provided emergency plumbing service. In addition, Karen was able to locate our main water shut off, to stop the water from the broken pipe from causing any major disfigure. All in all, the plumber was able to service the broken pipe and I was left with the wipe up when I returned home.
