Some states have no licensing causes for condo employers

My buddy Lisa runs his own condo management business, and he is super successful at it, however he has been in condo management for over 10 years now, and a couple years ago, I lost my task in the healthcare field because I was hesitant in getting vaccinated, losing my task was a life altering scenario for me.

During that time, Lisa was in need of a condo employer and provided the task to me! I explained to his that I had no experience in condo management, but he insisted that I would be good in the role.

She explained that I needed to learn the tenant and condo owner laws for the state that we live in. In addition, I would be in charge of collecting yearly rent and making sure that all repair concerns were resolved. Moreover, I would be responsible for securing the leases and managing the budget and expenses for the property. Although that seemed straight-forward enough, I was concerned that I didn’t have a real estate license! When I voiced my concerns to her, I was shocked when he told me that no license was needed to become a condo employer in our state. All that was required was a middle school diploma and some experience with condo management. Lisa explained that some states require a condo employer to have a real estate license, however our state was not one of them. Well needless to say, I accepted the position as a condo employer, and I have been doing it ever since. And the best part is, I enjoy it more than my former task in the healthcare industry.
