Last year, we lost our home to a fire. Luckily, it was warm enough that we weren’t standing out in the cold while waiting for the fire company, but we lost everything. We spent a week in a hotel until the insurance company came through with some money for us. We were looking for an apartment, but we couldn’t find one where we didn’t need to sign a lease. The insurance company told us they could rent a portable tiny home for us, but we already had a camper. The only problem with our camper was that there wasn’t a working bathroom inside. The insurance company rented a portable shower container and a mobile kitchen, so we had all the conveniences of our home. The portable shower container was a godsend. We could take a shower and use the restroom in one small hut that was close to our camper. We had electricity in the camper and hooked into the electricity from our home. The mobile kitchen was perfect for cooking and we could even sit inside and eat when it wasn’t pleasant weather. By the time the house was rebuilt, we were glad to move back in, but we were going to miss our portable shower container and mobile kitchen. The portable shower container was a godsend, and I was thinking we should buy a mobile kitchen for the summer. The mobile kitchen would be perfect when I’m canning and need more space. It would also be ideal when we have large family picnics. There would be no more cooking in the house and dragging all the food up to the pavilion in the woods.
