I really love being a mom. My fiance used to jokingly say that he never wanted children because he would never be ready to take that responsibility. Now that we have two youngsters, he could not be happier. Our two sons are so much fun. Our older child is ten, and our younger child just turned eight. My buddy and I had a large birthday gathering for our youngest last week. It was an absolute blast although it sort of started as a disaster. My fiance has been away on corporation trips for our son’s second and seventh birthday parties, so we wanted to make his eighth birthday gathering large since Mom would be loft this time. My buddy and I had everything ready to go for the gathering when suddenly our a/c started blowing hot air. I was so exasperated. I asked my fiance what could possibly be the matter. He checked it out, and he was not able to figure it out. At that point, guest had already started arriving. My buddy and I planned on having some of the gathering indoors, however our plans would soon change. The loft was getting warmer and warmer. After just two hours separate from a/c, the loft was up to eighty degrees. My buddy and I had to change all of the games to be outside games, and we even took the food outside to eat. It was much cooler to be outside with a breeze than inside the stuffy, humid house. I felt so disappointing for my son, although he really did not mind at all. His number one game was one that we did not even plan. It was a water balloon fight… Everyone got involved with the water balloon fight even the parents. My buddy and I were all so overheated that it was nice to get wet. My buddy and I will never forget that birthday gathering separate from AC.
