The best lessons are learned through mistakes, and unfortunately, those mistakes are often painful.
It is especially painful if it involves your wallet, as I had to learn the hard way.
I will admit, when it comes to getting things fixed, I will always look for shortcuts or cheaper ways to get what I needed done. I know it probably wasn’t the ethical choice, but if I have the opportunity to save money, you better bet that I will. This was the case with my A/C device. When it was completely broken, I decided to find the cheapest form of HVAC repair possible. I found a place that fixed air conditioners and heating units for less than 50 dollars, and I thought I struck gold. Their website looked pretty bad, but I was trying not to judge by appearances. I was going out when the HVAC tech was repairing my A/C machine, so I didn’t see what he was doing, or not doing. When I came back, even though I was told it was fixed, it still didn’t work. Then I noticed I was vastly overcharged. I called to complain, but suddenly their number was no longer in service. I was angry beyond belief, and even though I was scammed, I was unable to get my money back. If there is one thing I’ve learned is always go with a good trusted certified company. If I had just gone with a trusted company, I wouldn’t be out of so much money, and would have had my A/C device fixed.
