Summer in this town gets overwhelming with the hoards of people that come to visit for the summer. I think our population doubles for the summer months, which is good for local businesses but bad for hermits like me. I’m not really a hermit but I do like my space when I go to the beach or go for a ride on my bike. I usually end up staying in my air conditioned flat until later in the evening when it calms down outside. It’s usually busy on the beach from about noon till 6pm when everyone goes back to their flats to get ready for the night. I’m glad I have central heat and air in this place because it makes it much more enjoyable to spend time indoors on those hot summer days. I’ve lived in places with no climate control and you just end up staying outside most of the time because it’s so uncomfortable in the home. Times have changed though and I have more money so now I can afford a place with a smart thermostat and a new HVAC system. I don’t like blowing money on things I don’t need, but staying comfortable in your home is a pretty good reason to be paying a bit more each month. I like to do my own HVAC maintenance and also even do some of the repairs if it is within my scope to do so. I have a good amount of tools in my flat so I can do most of the repairs in the place.
