Two more stories to go and then I’m off to the beach to meet my partner and have lunch there. Oh, but I just remembered I still need to prepare lunch! I’ll have to get it done fast because I want to avoid rush hour and still have some stories to write, and I can’t just rustle up a sandwich because it’s not good enough for my partner; it has to be something healthier and more elaborate, which will inevitably take up more time to prepare. I also have to prepare the bags with towels, dog food, clothes, sun lotions, and everything else one might need to spend a day at the beach. Later in the afternoon, I will meet my cooling tech buddy to play music in the street at our favorite spot next to the town’s church. There is a priest that lives there; he’s always a bit tipsy and enjoys listening to our music while he has a drink or two. The local contractor in town heard us playing music once and wanted to hire us to play weekly gigs. Things are starting to happen, so it’s a very exciting time for me and my bandmate. I will continue to work for the home comfort business, even if we do start earning money with the music, as a lot of people are going to need help with their cooling systems this summer, and some extra income would be helpful because my partner and I want to buy an RV to travel the country this summer in climate controlled luxury.
A visit from the cooling tech helps alleviate tension
The rainy weather has come to an end and that means beach time for me today as the weather prevented me from going yesterday.
I need to write some stories first before I can go anywhere.
This morning was a bit of a downer to be honest; my mother-in-law is in the apartment working on her computer, which means I can’t enjoy the morning in solitude. I think it’s normal that there’s an element of uncomfortableness between us, as I’m her daughter’s boyfriend and she’s my mother-in-law. Also, I perceive myself to not be very good at making small talk, and I always cringe inside myself whenever I force some words out of my mouth to make conversation. The cooling technician has come in this morning to sort out the a/c unit, which is great because having someone else in the house somehow alleviates the tension. This is why I’m glad that her boyfriend has moved in with us. He’s a really cool guy that works for a local HVAC provider; we get along very well, and he’s very funny and always joking, which helps to alleviate tension tremendously. Soon, I have to go out and buy some groceries at the supermarket with climate control. It’s lucky that my girlfriend and I are able to temporarily stay at my mother-in-law’s flat while we save money to buy an RV with awesome heating and cooling equipment, so we want her to see that we are cooperating and pulling our weight when it comes to household chores. That means helping out with cleaning, shopping, taking the dogs out, HVAC maintenance, and fixing anything that goes wrong in the house.
Going to meet my HVAC tech buddy
I managed to stumble out of bed early this morning even though I was feeling pretty tired, but I wanted to get my work out of the way so I could take the train to the beach before rush hour.
I hate taking public transportation during rush hour; I find it claustrophobic and don’t like being in enclosed, hot and stuffy spaces that are packed with people.
Before 1:30 pm, the trains are mostly empty, so my target is to catch the train before that time, and for that, I have to get my work done pretty fast. Also, I’m going to meet with my HVAC tech buddy to play music at our sport in the church, and we want to get there early because it’s a great spot, and if we don’t get there early someone else could take it. We will hit some local contractors in town to hand out our business cards in hopes of securing weekly gigs, and then we’ll hang out and have a beer in a bar with climate control while we contemplate the sunset. I’m happy that the sun is finally out after five days of heavy rain and I can’t wait to hit the beach and have a beer in an air conditioned bar. I played soccer yesterday afternoon and my foot started to hurt again. Later, when I arrived home, I put a cooling gel on my foot, which eased the pain considerably. Now it doesn’t hurt much, but I think it’s probably a good idea to rest it for about a week to make sure that it heals before playing another match.
Just waiting for the heating and cooling tech to arrive
I’ve been sitting down here on my front porch for the past half an hour just waiting for the heating and cooling guy to arrive.
I’m not really have anything special going on, just a regular heating and AC tune up.
It’s the same thing that I do every 6 months. I do my very best to take excellent care of my heating and AC system, in my opinion I think taking good care of your heating and AC system is one of the most important things you can do. I have a lot of friends that don’t take care of their heat and AC systems and I’m not surprised when their HVAC units only last about 10 years before they have to completely replace them. They think it’s because heating and AC units are not being made as well but I do believe that it’s because they’re not taking proper care of their heating and cooling system. A HVAC unit is a machine like any other and because of this it has to be well maintained and looked after. I do believe that there is a reason why all my heating and AC systems last much longer than my friends’ heating and AC systems. I do believe that this is because I take better care of my HVAC units than they do. Unfortunately today, the heating and AC guy is running a little bit late, but I don’t mind too much, once I get this HVAC appointment over with and my heating and AC system will have its tune ups and maintenance done and it should be good for another 6 months or so.
