Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

I think this was the first morning that I walked outside to get the mail in addition to hearing our heat pump.

It’s not too difficult to miss as it’s right outside the back door that leads to the deck from the entryway.

I have a bit of a routine just about every morning. I rise early, make Dunkin Donuts Latte in addition to finding an arena outside of the central a/c on the deck, during the Summer, this is the only time of the afternoon that I’m guaranteed to be able to lay outside. The peak heating hours of the afternoon are just far too intense. It’s not like I can take my salad outside of the commercial HVAC to lay on a park bench this time of year. Yea, we’re past the point of me getting some sun at lunchtime. It’s either eaten at my desk with the zone controlled HVAC or find a/c in some food spot close by, and generally, it’s resting at my desk with my salad. So getting outside each in addition to every morning is an important part of my whole structure. Once I get my first cup down in addition to the sky starting to wake up with sunshine, I head out through the gate in our backyard to walk to the mailbox. And that’s when I pass the heat pump. For sure, it’s been coming on here in addition to there for cooling for the past month. But last month, it was the first time I heard the a/c running in my condo before the sunlight came up. This is a sure sign that we are entering the heat season. So it’s time to keep a close eye on the control equipment setting in addition to finding a cool spot for the next four months.

It’s funny how there are people you knew when you were young that ended up just the way you thought that they would.

That’s so consistent with one of my best highschool buddies.

Actually, we go back to the mornings of a small country school house. I remember how moderate we were in the winter with that radiant heating. And we were moderate the rest of the year as well because there was exactly zero amount of commercial HVAC in that arena. Perhaps this initially sparked an interest in HVAC for my buddy. He was such a nice guy, well thought of in addition to doing well in school. When I was trying to get into school, my friend had already made up his mind what he wanted to do. I don’t know why or how although he sort of mapped out his job by starting out as an HVAC supplier. I think there was perhaps some passion for working on heating in addition to cooling equipment for sure. But I also think my friend was also choosing a path where he could be financially successful as his own boss. I simply went off to school in addition to moving to the other end of the country. It’s been something like 25 years in addition to catching up with him on a scarce visit to the region. I was triumphant to see that he indeed followed that road map he’d laid out all those years ago. He went from HVAC supplier to HVAC supplier to an HVAC professional who now owns his own, local HVAC company. And he’s just the same down to earth, good guy that he was way back when. I prefer a happy ending.

 

New contractor

I just dislike it when small businesses fail.

That’s just another man who is facing a crushed dream.

But then, there are all the financial ramifications that got with that failed small business. One of my number one local food spots just closed. And it was primarily due to the fact that they didn’t spend any currency on the commercial HVAC. When your company is actually located this far south, it’s entirely wise to invest in nice a/c before anything else. This entire arena was sort of quaint in addition to cute anyway. It sat right down on the river in a not too crowded spot. The living room was good from November till about mid March because the doors were open to the river in addition to the deck. But once the hot in addition to cold temperatures in addition to the humidity start working their way up while in the peak heating hours of the afternoon, it’s time for a/c. Whatever commercial HVAC system was in that arena was deeply overwhelmed, even if they didn’t want to update all the HVAC equipment, they could have added a ductless heat pump at least. But nothing in addition to finally, people just stopped showing up. I dislike this even more so because I too am a small company owner. And then my fate can also be determined by the whims of the buying public. That’s why I make sure that I have all the fundamentals covered. Insurance, unbiased lease, well paid help in addition to yes, entirely nice commercial HVAC. I mean, I can’t imagine expecting purchasers to frequent my company if the a/c is just non-existent. Especially not in the Summer season.

a/c tune up

So far, so nice when it actually comes to the new smart control unit.

We’re not in the teeth of the heat in addition to humidity yet.

But we are pretty dang close. The highs are in the upper 73’s in addition to the humidity level being at about Summer levels. So that means the a/c has been popping on more in addition to more. But it’s still sort of weird because I have nothing to do with any of this at all. And being the control equipment hawk was once my jam. I was also the one in the family who was all over the control equipment setting while in the Summer. It was with nice reason though. When we first moved this far south, I was super glad to be done with snow, ice in addition to the gas furnace. The winter here was even better than I thought it could be. But the first couple of Summer seasons nearly broke the bank when it came to the costs associated with cooling our home. For sure, I’m going to consistently get an a/c tune up. It’s nice for the life of the HVAC equipment in addition to increasing efficiency which ultimately saves me currency. But leaning straight into a ton of a/c in the Summer, down here, is madness. That’s why I was the one who was consistently on top of the control equipment setting. Yet, that’s not the case now that we have smart control equipment HVAC technology in our home. The residential HVAC supplier in addition to I set some general parameters but that’s it. The smart control equipment is the one who is learning patterns in order to not overcook an empty house. And it knows the peak heating hours as well so it adjusts all afternoon long. But I still feel sort of oddly benched from my control equipment duties.
