Heating up a grilled cheese sandwich

So far, I am crawling through my day – just the speed I want to go after a crazy day yesterday on the beach.

I didn’t feel like playing when I got out there.

I was not in the mood for beach volleyball against some competitive players. But, my friend and I only lost our first game. We were just warming up, not ready to start playing at that level. Once we were moving. We won the rest of our games, with the last one being the pinnacle of the day. Today, it’s been tough working on my heating and cooling system, even though I somehow managed to get all of the HVAC ducts cleaned in my house; now I am getting my writing work done for the day. I still have about two hours before I need to be anywhere, besides home, so I am right on track to getting my work done for the day before running out of time. The HEPA filter in my cooling system needs to be replaced. I will order one online, if the local company doesn’t have any. Actually, I know I will wait and do this tomorrow, because today is my day of rest, and I want to make sure I recover for some more volleyball! We will be playing in a couple more days. I am heating up a grilled cheese sandwich under the exhaust fan with a HEPA filter in it to keep the smell from the home. I will see you soon!

Heating up the body is helping

This week, I’m in some pain, so I am trying to be more aware of what I am doing, not how I am feeling.

I am just flowing with what is, not judging anything, which helps a lot on those mornings when I am not feeling up to par.

Slowly and steadily, I work on my writing; it will get done just in time. Then, with friends, I complete a 30 minute yoga session before going to walk with another friend on the beach. At 8 pm, I take a sunset walk with my friend, Val, a heating and cooling technician, to enjoy the outdoor colors, and talk about the heating and cooling industry a bit. Val and I will walk for an hour or so, then Van comes home to have a glass of wine and dinner with my roommate and I. Relaxing by the fireplace, we listen to some light jazz songs while feasting on curry beans and rice cooked on the stovetop. Then the temperature control system kicks in around 10pm to cool down the house with the nice new HEPA filter I just installed. We’ll all sleep like bears all night long, to rest our tired bodies. Tomorrow, I will wake up and do the same thing over again more or less. What a life I lead right? (I just miss my mom’s radiant floors and her home cooked meals, even though I will see her again this Christmas).

Happy to have zone control

I have an elbow brace on my right elbow, a back brace on my lower back, and both knees are wrapped with some freezing pain gel.

I spent a lot of time playing sports yesterday, and am feeling a bit on the sore side today.

I know the average age of the players yesterday was around 26 years old. I am the oldest, at almost 56 years old. So that means I was 30 years older than the average player yesterday, but still ended up winning almost all of my games. My friend and I only lost one game. That was his fault, my volleyball partner, who works at the heating company store with me. We had one undoubtedly long rally caught on tape & I undoubtedly want to see it because there were some weird and crazy plays that happened quickly, maybe about 30 seconds. The game was videotaped. The person who raped it offered to deliver the video to my work today. We should have some footage tomorrow, which I am a bit hesitant to share on social media, because I told all of my friends and family that I quit playing the sport many months ago because of awful injuries. Right now, I am cooling down all my joints with freezing gel. Then I will heat them up again with some tepid water from the heating device in our living room. I will survive, but now I sound like the boy who cried wolf with my injuries.

Eleven ductless mini split units

This house is turning into a Buddhist monastery.

  • We just got our bamboo wind chimes, which fit in well with our Buddha statue, candles, yoga mat and incense.

We also have the three chill cats walking around the flat and Buddhist flutes playing on the speaker in the background. We have bamboo wood floors throughout, and a nice spacious lounge part, where you can relax on the sofa while petting the cats. I have some djembe drums and a ukulele to top off the songsal instruments for the monastery. The place vibrates with a slow, relaxed energy. We run the temperature control system all the time to keep the air quality superb in this place, and also to keep the noise out from any people outside who may be loud or get-togethering. Our house is in a pretty quiet city, but there are a few bars within earshot, so keeping the windows closed keeps that noise outside. We go to sleep with the air conditioning system on 67F so that our bodies relax better without tossing and turning from not having any air conditioning system at all. Sleep is a priority in the monastery. We zealously protect our sleep, and get to bed early each night so that our bodies get official rest and relaxation. My buddy and I have HEPA filters in the stove exhaust so that when we cook our healthy natural food the air quality doesn’t get lowered from particles in the cooked food. We drink filtered water with lemon to keep our bodies alkalized so that my buddy and I don’t get too much acidity. Life in the monastery is great!
