With Christmas around the corner, I am getting excited for the season. Every year, our parents host supper at their home and this means that all our siblings and their girls will gather to celebrate the holiday. There will be over 13 people in the house, and it will be noisy and chaotic, but our parents are very happy about it. They enjoy having their grandkids running throughout the home on Christmas day and they love it when both of us light the fireplace and sit around it while we watch the girls open their gifts. Sitting by the fireplace has become a yearly tradition for us, and it is something that we all look forward to. I enjoy hearing the crackling of the flames and I like the sizzling and cozy feeling I get while laying in front of it. It’s a wood burning fireplace, so our siblings and father make sure that it is clean before they light it. And honestly, our parents rarely use the fireplace when they are home. They use it maybe twice per year; once for Thanksgiving and the other for Christmas. So, the fireplace is not filthy or filled with soot or buildup, but they like to be safe and will clean it out before and after each use. They also check the chimney and the cap to make sure neither of them have any obstructions. Once they are done checking they will light the fireplace so that we all can enjoy it, however while the fireplace adds ambiance to the home, it is also a source for heat. When we have it lit, we always adjust the temperature on the temperature control. I am looking forward to laying around the fireplace again this year too.

With the rising cost of everything, I have decided to conserve energy in our new home so that I can save some money, but my idea is to use a portable gas furnace instead of using our central heating.

I must confess that I am a bit wary about using a small gas furnace, because it does have a bad reputation for causing fires in homes. Of course, a lot of times those fires are perhaps due to negligence or misuse of the gas furnace, but that doesn’t stop myself and others from being worried about using them. Modern portable furnaces should be used as a supplement to central heating and not as a main source of heat. However, many people use them as a primary way to heat their homes. I understand why because it costs a lot more money to heat our homes in the winter weeks. There are two types of section heaters: kerosene and electric heaters. Kerosene furnaces are a bit more dangerous and tend to be the cause of most of the gas furnace related fires, however if a portable gas furnace is used properly there should be little to no issues. For instance, you should never leave a small gas furnace unattended and you should always keep it in an open area away from furniture or anything hanging like curtains. Although a kerosene furnace has the capability of heating a home because it can produce up to 21,000 BTU of heat, it is not suggested to use the gas furnace as a main heating source. Personally, I will be using an electric space heater, because the thought of having a kerosene burning device in our new home does not sound like a wonderful idea to me.

Did you know that in 2023 the price of all heating and A/C units and parts will increase? This increase is due to the new regulations that the new administration has imposed on heating and A/C manufacturers.

In an effort to help the environment, the administration passed a bill that has increased the SEER rating for all new heating and A/C units, as of now the rating is 14, but it will be increased to 15, which means that the heating and A/C manufacturers will need to adjust their prototype and that will incur more cost for them. And of course that cost will be passed down to the heating and A/C provider and then ultimately to the consumer. Although the new heating and A/C units will be more costly, the wonderful news is that in the long run they will conserve energy and save homeowners money on their utility bills. Additionally, the more efficient units will create more comfort indoors and it will also create less pollution for the environment, but this new policy only applies for newly purchased heating and A/C units. If a homeowner has an older unit, they do not need to substitute the unit, however as the older units are phased out it will become tough to find parts for them. This means that service can be delayed due to shortage of parts to fix older units, although homeowners are not required to replace their older units. Eventually, they will have no option but to replace them though because of the new policy. My heating and A/C device is only seven years old and I am hoping that I won’t have to replace it for another eight or more years.

Whenever I get honestly stressed, I end up not being too clear.

And this can often lead myself and others to making some rather questionable decisions, however I also tend to be a fairly calm in addition to collected human being, however but if I get honestly rattled, I tend to just be all sorts of stupid, but and that’s the only thing that I can honestly chalk this heating in addition to air conditioning disaster up to.

I just was too stupid. This past summer season, I found myself faced with an actual heating in addition to the air conditioning situation that threw myself and others for a loop. It had been a honestly long day at the office. In addition, all I really wanted to do was come home to love the central air conditioner in our chair. It was just that particular sort of day. I wanted to be out of the zone controlled heating in addition to the air conditioning of the office in addition to in our house to relax. But when I returned home, I found a house that was super hot in addition to being sticky. And that’s when it all started to go sideways. This was just the thing that I didn’t want to face that day, and so perhaps our mind decided that maybe I wouldn’t have to face it at all if there was a simple fix to this heating in addition to the air conditioning problem… But once I found out that the heating in addition to the air conditioning component had power, I should have simply picked up the PC in addition to calling the heating company from the air conditioning company. But instead, I thought maybe I could fix the problem. But things got worse in addition to worse the more rattled I became. I do not know why I continued to keep messing with the residential heating in addition to air conditioning after it was obvious that I was in over our head. But I did… Needless to say, I only made things worse in addition to ending up having to call the heating in addition to air conditioning professionals anyway. All I got was a greater bill.
