Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

I did a pile of work this morning and took a little lunch break to have my sandwich.

Now I feel satisfied and I am ready to knock out one more session of HVAC industry writing work, then I’ll take a little nap and do it once more.

Today is a busy workday with the HVAC service plan work, and I want to get done what I set out to do so that when my head hits the pillow tonight I will sleep better knowing I did it. It is too easy to put off things and save them for another day, but that ends up being like booking a 55 hour flight because it saved you ten bucks. My local contractor friend told me that his friends did that one time to save a few bucks but had the worst trip of their life with the 55 hour trip overseas. Imagine spending 55 hours in planes and airports! That is like over two days straight of being in each of them, wow. My heating dealer told me he had one friend fly across the world, and was trying to save money like this, and ended up spending 74 hours for one trip home! I think there were like six different flights that he had to take, all because he ended up saving $120 haha. Imagine being in the cold air conditioned airplane for 50 hours, sitting in those little chairs built for five year olds. Some people are really lost when it comes to how they spend, and try to save, their money. Just like me!

I am always forgetting appointments if I don’t have a note in front of me.

The same goes with cleaning the HEPA filter in my HVAC system and also for getting tuneups done to my system on a regular basis.

This is why the service plan is so good because they do all of the remembering for you. I don’t have to write anything on a piece of paper, or put an alert on my iPad to remind me to do so, the HVAC company does all of that for you. A lot of times the HVAC contractor will come and do the job when I am not even at home. The neighbor is the handyman for the building and has all of our keys, or at least a copy of them. So he often lets in the local contractors who need to work on my flat, and so I don’t have to waste my time coming back from the beach or from my job at the local business. I think the HVAC business has been out to my flat the past three years without me seeing them at all, or I hope they are coming out. No, they come out each time and do the duct cleaning and tuning up and leave me a receipt for the work when they leave. I usually am not around to let them in so I haven’t seen them in years actually. I think today I will take a peek at the HEPA filter to see how dirty it is getting and find out when they are coming next.

I am taking a siesta soon, after all we do live on the Spanish coast, so it is pretty much mandatory that you take a siesta each day around midday.

• I just want to finish six more articles so I am caught up, then I will take an hour nap and come back for one more hour of intense work and then I am all done.

I would like to go to the local business tomorrow and take a look at the heating and cooling equipment for sale to see if anything strikes my fancy. I could use a tune up on my system but I don’t know if I have the time or money for it, as I am flying back home in a couple of weeks and kind of need the money for the trip. I really just want to do a little window shopping at the HVAC company to see what latest and greatest HVAC equipment is stocking the shelves nowadays. I just need to focus my energy on today and getting through this mountain of work I have in front of me. The mountain is a bit smaller but I still have a long way to climb to reach the summit. Anyway, I think the zone controlled HVAC system that they put in my flat years ago has really saved me a lot of money. I really save a lot of money now with the heating and cooling bills and it was well worth the extra cost of getting the zoned HVAC system put in my place.

This bill is going to come right on time as it looks like I will get the bill in the middle of December about ten days before Christmas.

It’s actually an email I get from the landlord telling me the damage, and this time it is going to come when I really don’t want it to.

I may have to delay the payment a couple of weeks till I get paid from the heating and cooling supplier I work for. I don’t get paid till the end of the month so I may need to tell the landlord it won’t be possible to pay it on time this month. We will see because I also have some HVAC equipment repair jobs coming up and could make some money from them if it all goes smoothly. I just don’t have the money like I did when I ran my own local business working as a new contractor in my hometown. I did have a lot more money back then but I didn’t have a lot of free time to spend it. I think working less and having less money is where it is at. I work about 15 hours a week for the HVAC business doing oil and gas furnace repairs and sometimes I am lucky enough to get a duct cleaning job in a basement in the winter. Even better, a non heated basement in the middle of winter on a sub zero day. That makes ductwork repairs and cleaning even more fun, as your hand can barely work in those temps!
