The home I bought, as wonderful as it was, it wasn’t perfect. I didn’t have to know the previous owner to know that they were smoker, it was quite obvious. The home still faintly smelled of smoke, especially the carpet. Once that smoke smell has set in, it is almost impossible to remove. That is, unless you have a whole home media air cleaner. Before I got the whole home media air purifier, I tried every method I could find to remove the smoke smell, but nothing worked. Not air fresheners, air sprays, carpet cleaners and anything else you can think of, the smell remained. I had a friend who heard of my dilemma, and they told me to get an air purifier. Air cleaners are fantastic at removing odors from your home, as well as they improve your indoor air quality. I didn’t really have much to lose, and so I bought an air purifier. I bought it from the local HVAC store down the street. That is where I bought most of my heating and cooling technology. My friend was right, after the air purifier, my home’s smoke smell completely disappeared from the air. Now you really can’t tell the difference between my home and a home that has never had a smoker in it. Really, the only time I ever smell smoke is if I am right up on my carpet, where the smell still has slight residue. It is fantastic to have my home feel and smell great again.
Indoor air quality could definitely be better
My home’s indoor air quality was once like that.
I stepped into my sister’s home and noticed almost right away how heated and uncomfortable it felt.
I asked her about her air conditioning, and the HVAC machine was still working, but the indoor air quality was awful. It reminded me of my house at one point. When I first moved in, my home always felt stuffy and uncomfortable. I couldn’t stand it, how could a house feel like a home if you’re uncomfortable? Thankfully, the solution was simple. Get a whole home media air cleaner. Unfortunately, whole home media air purifiers were a good bit more expensive than I had thought. I heard of portable air purifiers, but I wanted the whole thing. So, I decided to save up a bit of money every month to get one of the air cleaners. I knew it would take me a while, but I would eventually get there. My boyfriend heard of my struggles with the indoor air quality, and he loaned me a bit of money so that way I can get the air cleaner a lot faster. After I had the whole home media air cleaner installed, my home’s indoor air improved within a day, and it has been phenomenal since then. I told my sister about my similar situation, and how she could improve her air quality. She was incredibly thankful for the advice, and told me she was tired of how her home felt. Hopefully she can get great indoor air quality like me.
I can’t stand cold weather
I step outside and it is like stepping into the arctic.
For a second I get flashbacks when I was up north, just a few years ago.
Horrible memories those were. I hated growing up in the north due to the weather. Everything else was nice, the people, the scenery etc. But not the weather, and I can’t stand cold weather. The weather was nothing but ice cold snow, and I especially hated driving it in. I once got in a minor accident thanks to the snowy weather. I knew once I was financially able to, I was going to move out. I moved a little further south, expecting warmer weather, and yes I did get some warmer weather. However, it wasn’t nearly as warm as I was hoping. I guess I should have moved further, but it’s not so cold here where it’s unbearable, just annoying. I have already settled here and made new friends, so moving again was not an option. Thankfully, I do have a pretty great heating system and on most cold days, I don’t notice the cold weather. I also have a gas fireplace as well, and that helps keep my place nice and warm. Not that long ago my heater was having a few issues, and so I had a heating specialist come and take a look at it. The furnace system seemed to be fine, and it turned back on, so that was good news. I just hope that it can last the rest of this winter.
I don’t handle the summertime heat well
I have never understood those people that actually look forward to summer time weather.
I am like ice cream in hot weather.
I melt. I not only hate the feeling of being hot, but I start sweating really badly. For some reason, I seem to sweat more than most people, and it honestly looks like I fell into a pool, I get drenched when I sweat. It’s so gross and embarrassing, I hate it. So I try to avoid the summertime weather as much as I physically can. Thankfully, I am a bit of a homebody, and I don’t see a reason to go out that much except for errands. So, I stay in the safety of my climate controlled home, where I determine the temperature. However, even my home can get heated up if it is heated up enough outside. This summer in particular was really bad, and it was getting up in the 90s. I could really feel it in my home too, and I had to start running the cooling unit almost all day. I didn’t want to place too much strain on the HVAC machine, but I knew I had to keep it running to avoid being super sweaty. Especially since my girlfriend was supposed to come over today. She doesn’t know about my weird sweaty issue, and I definitely don’t want her to find out now. So even if it costs me a lot of money and potential breaks down in the future, that air conditioning system will keep running.
