Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

That was comfortable enough but I wish I had brought in my own space heater because I was pretty chilly all night long.

My friend, Naomi, asked me to come visit him next month. He lives in the mountains in the view is awesome but her house is really old. I mean, I’m happy for the invitation but the house really needs an upgrade. For starters, the HVAC system needs some serious repair. Well, the air conditioning isn’t terrible, it works just okay. I don’t think she uses it very often due to the coolness in the mountains. It’s a simple window unit. But the furnace really needs an upgrade. By an upgrade, I mean she needs to install a furnace. The house only has a shared fireplace. It doesn’t have central heat at all The fireplace is between the bedroom and the living room and it provides heat for the whole house. It is not very warm though unless you stay just a few feet from the flames. Last time I visited Naomi I was not aware of this fact. She set me up in the living room on the couch with a sleeping bag. That was comfortable enough but I wish I had brought in my own space heater because I was pretty chilly all night long. Her couch is not super close to the fireplace. We did have a lot of fun skiing and building snowmen but a little bit of heat would have been nice to come home to after a cold day outside. I’m not sure how to decline her invitation without being rude. I mean, I would like to visit in all I just don’t want to be freezing cold the whole time.

Since I moved to a new house my poor house plants are not doing very well. I don’t understand it. I’ve had some of them for over 20 years. I bought this house because of the large bay windows that should have been great for my plants. So why are they all wilting and looking terrible? I asked myself. Then I check the humidity in my house and it all came together. It turned out that the air conditioner was taking all of the humidity out of the house and my poor plants we’re dying because of it. But it is too hot to simply turn off the air conditioning. Then me and the plants would both bake to death. Instead I called up an HVAC company to come and see if they could do anything. The technician recommended installing a humidifier that hooks up to my HVAC system. He would also install a humidistat too so that I could control how humid my house is. I think this is exactly what my plants need. It will cost quite a bit of money but it’s worth it to me if I can keep the plants healthy. That’s why I scheduled the HVAC technician to come back and do the installation on Tuesday. Until then, I have pots of water around the plants to help increase the humidity and I’m also spraying them with a spray bottle at least once a day. I think they should survive until Tuesday without proper humidity. I wonder if I should close the vent in the kitchen, for a few days, as well.

A lot of people say that old folks’ houses are always too warm. That is not tploy for my Grandparents. Their house is always super comfortable, then no matter the season, the house is always perfectly hot or comfortably cool. That is why I was surprised to find the house sizzling in addition to humid when I visited last last year. I know I should have called before popping over because both of my Grandparents were a bit frazzled when I showed up… Grandmother answered the door in addition to then yelled, “It’s only Carlos!” I was a bit taken aback until I realized that they thought I was the Heating as well as Air Conditioning supplier that they had called to repair their Heating as well as Air Conditioning system. They weren’t disappointed that I was there. They were disappointed that the Heating as well as Air Conditioning supplier wasn’t. Thankfully, the Heating as well as Air Conditioning supplier showed up about 20 minutes later in addition to got to work on the Heating as well as Air Conditioning system, once the a/c was running again my Grandpa started asking them about getting an quote for a humidifier/dehumidifier upgrade. You see, he collects antique pocket watches. He has been talking about getting official humidity control for some time now. I know he might have broken the a/c on purpose just so my Grandmother would let him get that estimate. That’s only a theory though. Maybe the a/c genuinely did just chop down in addition to he seized his opportunity. Whatever the case, my Grandparents are going to be getting humidity control installed in their house next week. So I know their house is going to be even more comfortable than usual.

I knew that my father had been fixing up an old travel trailer… He pretty much just gutted a decades old trailer in addition to then set it all up inside to make it the way he wanted it.

He has been posting lots of pictures on social media in addition to I kept commenting with how amazing it looked.

However, he hadn’t posted in awhile in addition to I didn’t know that the trailer renovations were complete or that he intended for the two of us to go camping when I visited in November. I thought I might be helping him with the renovations in addition to that would be it! So I was surprised at the camping plans he shared with me as soon as he picked me up from the airport. I genuinely didn’t want to go camping, yes my buddy and I enjoyed it when I was a child however I’m now pushing 40 years old in addition to haven’t been camping in over 20 years. I don’t like being cold anymore in addition to I don’t like roughing it, however but after that I got home in addition to I saw the inside of the renovated trailer. It was completely done in addition to looked so hot in addition to cozy, but dad had installed a faux fireplace along one wall as well. He explained that it runs on electricity in addition to so I wouldn’t have to cut wood. However, the faux fireplace would keep us nice in addition to warm. I still had my reservations although I saw how much he had planned in addition to looked forward to this trip so I acquiesced, and you know what? I was never cold or uncomfortable during our entire camping trip; That space heating system fireplace thing genuinely kept the trailer nice in addition to hot in addition to my buddy and I had a unbelievable time.
