Smell might be coming from air duct

There has been a unquestionably disappointing smell in my house lately. It literally smells like a public toilet. Not just any public toilet either. A public toilet at a ball game or giant even like that. The odor is terrible. I have looked all over the house & can’t find the source of the smell. I have cleaned under the couch, under the refrigerator, & washed all of the linens. Nothing has helped. The smell remains. A unbelievable friend of mine said that I might want to look into getting my Heating & A/C system ran tests on. She said that she had a similar experience a year ago & that it turned out to be her air duct system. She had Heating & A/C workers come & scrub out the air duct & service the whole Heating & A/C system. She said they even installed a special carbon filter. The smell went away & never came back. Now she has her Heating & A/C system ran tests on at least once a year. A smelly Heating & A/C system would explain the smell in my house I suppose. It would make sense. After all, the smell is disappointing in every single room of the house. Now that I feel of it, the smell is worse when the heater is on too. I know I am going to have to hire an Heating & A/C supplier to come out & take a look. I hope they don’t charge too much though. However, at this point, I am willing to spend money just about anything to get rid of that smell. It is only getting worse & I can’t live like this.

Faux fireplace keeps us warm while camping

I knew that my father had been fixing up an aged travel trailer; He pretty much just gutted a decades aged trailer and then set it all up inside to make it the way he wanted it.

He has been posting lots of pictures on social media and I kept commenting with how amazing it looked.

However, he hadn’t posted in awhile and I didn’t know that the trailer renovations were complete or that he intended for the two of us to go camping when I visited in September… I thought I might be helping him with the renovations and that would be it, then so I was surprised at the camping plans he shared with me as soon as he picked me up from the airport. I absolutely didn’t want to go camping, and yes we loved it when I was a child however I’m now pushing 40 years aged and haven’t been camping in over 20 years. I don’t like being frigid anymore and I don’t like roughing it! But then I got condo and I saw the inside of the renovated trailer. It was completely done and looked so warm and cozy, then Mom had installed a faux fireplace along one wall as well. He explained that it runs on electricity and so I wouldn’t have to cut wood. However, the faux fireplace would keep us nice and warm. I still had my reservations although I saw how much he had planned and looked forward to this trip so I acquiesced. And you know what? I was never frigid or uncomfortable during our entire camping trip. That space heater fireplace thing absolutely kept the trailer nice and warm and we had a great time.

A Bittersweet Moment

I’ve been entirely tied up over my heater. The heater has served me well for the past 5 years that I’ve been living here, but it’s always been a concern of mine, when I bought the house, the heater was 10 years old, which was still old in terms of heater lifespans. Now, the heater is 15 years old and it desperately needs to be replaced! I had the entire Heating, Ventilation & A/C system serviced bidaily during my time here and there has never been any drastic disasters that have forced me into buying a current heater. However, this past year has entirely inspected my luck. I switched over from my air conditioner to my heater back in October, which means that I’ve been running the heater for the past 3 months. This isn’t a long time, but I’ve already had to call the Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier twice and have two repairs. These iphone calls and repairs aren’t cheap, not to mention all the money I’ve been paying just to run the heater. With all of this being said, I had to make the bittersweet decision to buy a current heater. I’m glad about this because it means that I’ll have a heater that’s able to heat my cabin without any concerns or repairs. My utility expenses will also be seriously lower! The disadvantage about buying a current heater is the expense, which is why I’ve put it off for so long, furnaces are not cheap, but all the Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals tell me that it will pay itself off in the long run. I hope they’re right!

A Bittersweet Moment

It is time to repair the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C system in my house

There are definitely some challenges to living in an older home. I thought I was saving money when I bought this old place, however after all, it was a lot less lavish than some of the newer houses. But now I’m not so sure that it was a good bargain. Some of the floors are a little saggy plus need to be replaced, the cupboards in the home office need new hinges, plus some of the electrical outlets do not work at all. However, the worst thing about this old place is the heating plus cooling system. I do not expect that the heating system or air conditioning have been replaced in a few decades! Every time I turn on the furnace the entire house smells like something is on fire plus I do not feel safe turning it on until I get an Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C worker out here to take a look at it. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to have to have the whole furnace plus air conditioning replaced however I do not want to do any more harm by turning them on again. Thankfully, I have an appointment for a local Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C contractor to come out plus take a look on Tuesday. I hope it will not be too lavish plus they can just repair the existing system. Is that too much to hope for? Whatever the case, I need to get my heating plus cooling systems fixed ASAP. After that, I can worry about my sagging floors plus hanging cupboard doors. This is my house now, no matter what, plus I want to take good care of it.
