Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

It’s been a long winter and I am ready for a change soon.

We are in the beginning of April and the weather is going to shift to warmer in two more days.

My central heat is ready for a break as I have been running it nonstop for about six months. I think the weather got cold around the beginning of October so that makes half a year of cold weather already. I need to check my air conditioner soon and make sure it is cooling the flat efficiently. I’ll wait for a warmer day this weekend and fire the old beast up to see how it runs. I’m just chilling at home today watching Dogecoin and Ethereum and waiting for the heat to come back outside so I can go out to the beach without having to wear my winter coat. I have my small oil space heater on low next to me keeping my office a balmy 76F while I work away. I plan on going to the beach today around 3pm for some sun once I finish all of my work. It will probably still be empty out there as it is just too cold to enjoy the beach still. At least the wind stopped, it was feeling like someone had a big central air conditioner blowing cold wind from the vent. It’s not so bad if you can find a shaded spot where the wind doesn’t get to. I’m just ready for Mother Nature to turn on her natural central heating unit again and warm us up.

I went back to the states last month and had a blast seeing my friends and family.

• The only problem was that it threw me off track with my HVAC cleaning schedule when I returned and six months went by till I finally remembered that I forgot to clean my HEPA filter.

It was incredible how much dust was in the filter, it looked like a one inch thick dust carpet covering the filter. I’m sure that dust was blowing through the filter and into the flat because the forced air from the air handler would have pushed some of the dust through it. So now I am going to put an alarm on my phone reminding me to clean the AC filter every three months, along with a reminder to clean the ductwork once every year. I think the ducts are still quite clean because I don’t see any dust residue on the vent grills, which is usually a good telltale sign that the system is dirty or clean. I have a small portable space heater that I use quite often so I can avoid having to run the main unit, especially given that I am in my office for most of the time that I am home. The cool thing about the portable unit is that there are no filters to clean and it also uses very little energy to operate because it is just a small unit. I am going to get some air conditioning repair service soon because summer is coming and I haven’t done anything with the AC in a while.

It’s such a great invention and at such a good price I wonder why everyone doesn’t have one.

The robot cleaner has a built-in HEPA filter and mop function so you can basically forget about vacuuming for good. All you need to do is clean the HEPA filter once a week and empty out the dust bin. I really don’t like to vacuum so this is just the best purchase in the world I’ve made in recent years. My HVAC system also has a HEPA but it doesn’t do anything with all of the dust that builds up on the floors so this robot is a godsend for me and my allergies. I was vacuuming and mopping myself a couple times a week and it took me about an hour each time so that means this robot is saving me two hours a week of housework. My smart thermostat also saves me time from adjusting the old thermostat like I was constantly having to do, so that is also saving me a lot of hassle. I’m really just left now with shopping and cooking and laundry, which isn’t a big deal for me. I like cleaning my HVAC equipment because I know that it will make the air cleaner in my flat as I don’t have any kind of air purifier in my flat yet. I don’t think I need one now that I have this robot cleaning up all of the dust that settles on the floor. Maybe I can use the HVAC robot to clean my sofa too.

I’ve moved my Ethereum coins to a cold storage system now so nobody can hack into them and take them away like a thief in the night.

• I’ve also been mining coins and the processing heats up my office like a sauna so now I have to run a portable air conditioner in the room to keep it from overheating.

It takes a lot of processing power to mine coins so there must be a cooling system or the computer will overheat and break down. I could run my central air conditioner but it would be cooling down rooms that don’t need it and seeing that it is still cold outside it would be like an ice chest in my flat. I’ve made some money with the mining so far but I am wondering how much more my power bills are going to be each month. Hopefully the mining makes more than the air conditioning is costing me, if not, then I am just working for the power company with my mining and that would be ridiculous. I have to do some math I guess. I like the idea of a cold storage for my coins so that I am not tempted to trade them so often and so that nobody can hack into the exchange and steal them. I just ran my robot vacuum cleaner with its HEPA filter and my floors have never been cleaner. The robot even has a mop function that does a great job of cleaning any remaining dirt off of the floor. What will they think of next?
