I’m pretty sure my stepdad is really gonna love his birthday gift that I bought him this year.

Mike keeps talking about new smart control units & how he would love getting one for the apartment however he just yet to get around to it.

I told him the other morning that I was going to get a smart control device from my apartment & Mike looked almost offended. Mike said that he desperately wanted a smart control device plan too. I just laughed to myself because I had already purchased a second smart control device plan for Mike’s apartment too at the same time that I was getting mine. I’ve known for a while now that my stepdad wanted a smart control device for his house, & I was hoping that Mikee wouldn’t get it before I had the chance to. I was really afraid that I was going to be too by the time that Mike’s birthday got here. I really had a couple of bad dreams where he wound up going to buy the control device before I could give it to him! I guess I was pretty tied up with the whole thing without even realizing it. Anyway, I feel that Mike is going to love it once all of us can get it installed. I think that I might really spend the extra money for the Heating & Air Conditioning supplier to come to his apartment to install it for him too. I think that if Mike has to install it himself, he might not ever really want to get around to doing it & so I want to make it as easy as possible for my stepdad.

When I went for a medical check up the other morning, my doc’s office was so cold that I couldn’t believe it. I think that their heating plan must have been broken or something. I guess my first clue was the fact that there were a bunch of Heating & Air Conditioning repair vans parked out in the main parking lot out back. I wasn’t really thinking about it much until I got inside, though. I was supposed to go up to the third floor, & immediately I felt that the heating wasn’t working on the elevator. When I stepped in the elevator, it felt as if I was walking into a refrigerator or something! It was super cold. I expected for it to be much warmer when I got off the elevator at the third floor, however when the doors slid open up there it was just as frgidly cold. I noticed a couple of Heating & Air Conditioning suppliers coming up the stairs with tools & a large piece of some sheet metal. I have no clue what they were doing, though. I observed that almost everyone waiting in the doctor’s office still had on their Winter season coats, though. Also, someone on the medical staff had plugged in a little electric section gas furnace out in the waiting room next to the large goldfish tank. I don’t feel if they were trying to keep the patients warmer or if they were trying to keep all the goldfish from getting too cold! Either way, it was still way too cold in there for humans or for goldfish. The Heating & Air Conditioning crew hadn’t made any progress at all by the time that I left, either.

Until last week, I had only ever been to one football game.

My brother and I went to a football game in the middle of September.

It was extremely hot and uncomfortable. The beers were $8 each and it was $10 for a hot dog. I never wanted to go back to another football game. I was happy to stay at home where the food and beer were cheap and the AC and climate control were abundant. As soon as the season started this year, my brother got two tickets to go to the first home game. I immediately said no to the tickets when he mentioned going to the game. Then he told me that we had seats in a box. One of the guys at his work got the tickets from a vendor. The seats were in a climate-controlled box with free food and free beer. I was pretty excited when I found out about the tickets, and the free food and free beer was just the tip of the iceberg. I was most excited about the fact that the football box was climate controlled with air conditioning. The last time we went to a game I was miserable because of the heat and humidity. Going to a game with a great view of the field and climate-controlled seating made the whole experience a lot better. Of course, it is no wonder that they charged $1500 for each one of the seats in the box area. With those prices, they can afford to let you spend the night.

One of the worst times of the year to have a problem with the air conditioner is of course during the summer months.

I was working at a museum last summer in the department that restores old paintings.

I went to college to earn a degree in art history and restoration. I got the job at the Museum a couple of months before the summer heat started. I was working on a painting from the 1850s, when I started to feel warm. I didn’t feel the air conditioner running above me, so I stopped working on the painting and I got up from my desk to change the temperature on the thermostat. When I realized that the thermostat should have been running, I contacted the maintenance department. I told the supervisor that we were having some indoor temperature problems. The paintings were already starting to melt and it was about 80 degrees in the restoration room. The maintenance supervisor came upstairs as quickly as possible. The guy performed a couple of tests on the AC, and then he told me that I should move the paintings to a different room. He did not believe I was going to be able to continue working on the project anymore that day. I moved everything to the next room and the AC was working fine in there. I spent all day working on the paintings in a different room. The next day, the problem with the AC still wasn’t fixed. I’m thankful we moved everything that day, because 24 hours without climate control would have damaged the paintings a great deal.
