Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

Ahh, we finally made it to Friday.

• What a week I had with my cryptos going crazy and my thermostat taking a little time off work.

For some reason it stopped working when I tried to turn it on, but when I press on the screen of the thermostat it turns on again. This leads me to believe that there is something loose in the circuitry and that I may need to replace it soon. I’ve been trying to find one online but can’t find the model for my type of air conditioning system. I think I may need to go down the street and ask the store if they can order one for me. They are really easy to replace, all you need to do is pull the old one off and press the new one in its place. I think it costs about $200 for a smart programmable type thermostat, which would be great because I have the old dial type that is very inaccurate and constantly needs me to change it manually. I’m sitting here watching my Ethereum wondering if I should sell but I know as soon as I do the price will jump up 40% like it did last time I sold. I am going to just sit on it for a few months and then sell and buy myself a new air conditioning system since this one is getting quite old. I think it was made in 2010 so it is nearing the end of its life. The newer ones have better SEER ratings anyways so I’ll save money on electricity.

Cooling and heating business

We have a bunch of party people coming to town this weekend to liven up our small quiet beach town for a few days.

It starts today, which is Friday, and goes through till Tuesday next week. I guess it is Mardi Gras time in the states so this is our version over here on the southern Spanish coast of a beautiful country close to the French mountains separating the two countries. I welcome all of the crazy people coming here and am a bit excited to see their costumes and watch their crazy antics. If it gets too much I’ll retreat to my air conditioned flat which is quiet and far away from all of the chaos. I live in the center of the city on a quiet street so it’s great that I can be home in a few minutes to a quiet sanctuary. My central heat and air unit acts as a white noise generator drowning out all of the sounds from outside. The only noise it doesn’t block out totally is the sound of fireworks that we sometimes have in this town. Spanish people seem to love their fireworks, but their dogs feel a bit differently about it. A lot of people live here without air conditioning in the summers and I have no idea how they sleep at night when the temperature outside is 90 F! I tried it one summer with two fans blowing on me and I was always waking up in a pool of sweat. Hopefully, we live and we learn as we age in life. That’s how it’s post to be, right? Haha. Yeah, I said post to be.

I would like to be pill free and just rely on a good air purification system to take care of my allergies for me

I talked to my brother the other day on messenger and he asked me why I am always sniffling. I think it is because I have some allergies to dust and maybe it is time to clean my ductwork and vents of my AC system. I bought some of those nasal strips yesterday and they stopped my sniffling so it actually is because my nasal passages are too constricted and not wide enough to let sufficient air through so I am always fighting for more air. I think another thing is that the air in my flat is not very pure so I am going to buy a good quality air purifier for my house. I may even get one that is a central unit and cleans the whole house as opposed to buying a small portable one which basically cleans the air of the room that it is in. I’m not sure how much they cost but I’ve heard that whole home air purifiers are the way to go. I was taking a lot of pills for both my allergies and my pain in my shoulders but I have since fixed the shoulder pain and am not working on the allergy side. I would like to be pill free and just rely on a good air purification system to take care of my allergies for me. I know that this is the problem because I had the same issue in my old flat where there was a lot of dust in the place like here. I’ll go look online now.

I’ve had a lot of injuries in my days seeing that I have been a daredevil type of spirit my whole life.

It all ended though one day when I was skydiving and almost hit the ground while jumping, with my local contractor buddy piloting the plane.

This is a true story and I’ll keep it short. I was on jump number 178 and was doing tricks in the air before opening my parachute. I left the hot dropzone hangar, there was no air conditioning, and went up in the plane and jumped out. I got into a side spin on my back and was sliding through the air sideways while spinning quickly. It took me a while to get out of the spin and when my parachute opened I was two seconds from impact. I quit skydiving that day. I decided to get a job at the local hardware store selling air conditioners and heaters and settled for a life of peace and quiet. Well, that lasted about a year until I decided to start doing stand up comedy full time for the adrenaline rush. I would then spend the following 17 years chasing the dream in bars without air conditioning or heating overseas. I’m happy with my choice and love the life I am living now. I found the perfect sea town for me and will stay here the rest of the days of my life. I live in a flat with a few space heaters scattered in different rooms and one small portable air conditioner. Life is Good!
