Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

I had a pretty weak night of sleep last night as the cryptos have been a bit crazy with this Russian fiasco going on.

I hope for humanity’s sake that they pull the troops out soon and find a peaceful retreat. I don’t like seeing anyone fighting anymore, I just want to see peace and joy in the world. I am looking for a job soon as my savings are dwindling down quite low. I put all of my money into Ethereum now as it seems to be bottoming out and ready for another bull run soon. Maybe if it hits a big number I can take some of the money and get a new HVAC system in my flat. I think the unit in there now is about 15 years old, which to me seems like it’s about the end of the road for it. I think the average air conditioner lasts about 10 or so years till it needs to be replaced. It’s the same with appliances such as fridges and washers and dryers, they are all built to last about seven to ten years nowadays. At least we have quality AC service nearby if we need it but I would be happier just having a brand new unit. I guess it is all up to the Bitcoin God as it is the one that all of the other cryptos follow. Cryptos kind of remind me of the old game a lot of kids played in school called Dungeons and Dragons. It’s a bit of a fairy tale land for crypto traders, I guess it’s a way of escaping reality sometimes.

I did 15 minutes in the sea just a few minutes ago and boy was it cold today.

We have cloudy skies and no sun so the temperature was quite cold even before going into the water. I’m glad I got my space heater here next to me right now warming up my body. I just took a 20 minute hot bath till my hot water was gone, I think the water temp was about 100 F as opposed to the 56 F sea temperature I came out of not long before. The change in temperature is supposed to be good for the blood vessels so I do it every day. I have a central heating unit but I prefer to just use the space heater as it is much more energy efficient, especially since I am only using one room all day in the flat. I heat the bathroom up with the hot bath as I close the shower curtain tightly so that it turns into a small sauna room. It’s nice having a residential HVAC provider down the street who can help me if something goes wrong with the unit. They have great prices for repairs and maintenance since it is quite dead in this town in the winter time. I am going down there later today to check out the HEPA filters they have in stock to see if any of them will fit my unit. I need to measure my current filter and make sure I get the exact match. I don’t have to do much work on it, but I am noticing that the AC unit is not cooling like it used to.

I suspect that it is just dirty and a good cleaning should do the trick.

I’m also watching cryptos because I have a lot of money riding on Ethereum and it is making it a bit difficult to sleep well for now. I know that this will pass but this Russian war has kind of stirred things up a bit for now. I need to buy some of that condenser grill spray cleaner. It works really well on grime and dust on the coils and foams up immediately after spraying it on the air conditioner’s cooling coils. I also want to clean the filter and maybe even get online and order a HEPA filter, and maybe even get a washable HEPA filter so I don’t need to keep replacing them. I think it would help a lot for my health too because I seem to have a lot of allergies when I am at home a lot. I bet there is dust in the vents and ductwork too so I could be in for a long day of work but I kind of like it. If it is something I can’t do then I can look for some videos online that show how to clean the ducts in my type of air handler. I can always go down to the local contractor and see if they have a repairman available to come over and do the job for me.

This Russian war has affected my sleep quite a bit lately, but I am taking it in stride and showing myself patience and kindness to weather this storm gently.

There is no need to make things worse when I don’t have a good night of sleep so I just tell myself to move through the day lighthearted and carefree knowing that all is well.

I am going to measure my filter in my air handler for my heating and cooling system so that I can replace it with a washable HEPA filter. I’m not sure what they cost but it will be worth it for me in the long run because I have a lot of allergies to dust. I wear one of those nose strips to open my nasal passage, and they work quite well, but when the filter is dirty and the dust gets to be too much I need to take more steps to correct it. The HVAC business down the street sells HEPA filters but I don’t know if they have the size that I am looking for. I probably need to get on Amazon and just order from there. I like to support the local contractor when possible but this is something that is out of their scope, and besides I think they would charge a lot more for the same HEPA filter that I can get myself. Thank God for the internet and Amazon. I know some people are against big companies like that but I think it is a good thing too. Yin and Yang.
