I have been so far behind the times with things.

One of the main things has been the thermostat I have that runs my central heating and air conditioning system.

I have an old dial thermostat that I have had as long as I can remember. There are now smart thermostats on the market and what everyone is using today. I have decided that it is time to get modern. I went out and bought a smart thermostat for my central heating and air conditioning system unit. Installing the smart thermostat was not too hard either. It came with instructions that told me exactly what to do and how to do it. I did not have to call the local heating and air conditioning company to send out a certified heat and air conditioning specialist to install the smart thermostat. I am glad I could save money on this, because just to have them install the smart thermostat would have cost me a few hundred bucks. Who wants to pay that when you could easily do it yourself if you simply follow the instructions that came with the smart thermostat. I can say that I really enjoy the way the smart thermostat works. I do not know why I put it off for so long. Having a smart thermostat makes running my central heating and air conditioning system a lot easier and not to mention, I do not have to run it all the time. I cam program it to come on and off when I am away from home and when I return.

This really cute HVAC technician showed up at my house this morning to work on our broken furnace system.

Whenever I called to make the appointment to get my gas furnace fixed, I never even dreamed that someone who looked like this was going to show up at my house in the HVAC repair van.

I figured I would get an old guy in a rumpled heating and cooling company uniform. Never in my life have I seen a handsome HVAC technician before, but this guy really looked like he would be more at home on a movie screen instead of messing around in the basement of my house with my broken gas furnace! It was all I could do not to make some kind of a joke to him about how he could come on and light my fire or something awful like that. I’m sure that this guy gets that kind of thing all the time though. His wife probably hates it that he has to go out to random women’s homes to fix furnaces and air conditioning systems. If he were my husband, then I would certainly hate letting him out of my sight for a minute! I tried to talk to him while he was working on the furnace, but he made sure to tell me that he was happily married. I guess he has probably had issues with that sort of thing before. Either way, that’s fine with me. I just liked watching him while he worked on the furnace. As a matter of fact, I might tear up my air conditioning in the spring just so I can get a return visit from him!

Neglecting your furnace during the summer is a really bad idea. This goes against what you would really think is common sense, since you don’t really have to use your furnace during the summer time. When the weather outside is warm, your gas furnace or electric furnace That is sitting down in your basement is really the last thing that is on your mind. When the temperatures outside are burning hot, you don’t even like to think about the winter and turning on your furnace system. At least that’s how I always am. However, what we don’t really think about is the fact that during the warmer times of the year, your furnace is sitting there being neglected and collecting dust and other debris that could actually be harming the interior workings of the furnace. It’s not a good thing to think about, that’s for sure, but it’s something that needs to be talked about more often. It makes more sense to have your gas or electric furnace worked on during the spring or the summer, since you won’t be needing it! If you wait until the colder weather in the fall or the winter to get your furnace repaired and maintained, then you’re going to be out of a heating system while the work is being done. It’s just a really good idea to take care of your furnace year round, not just when you are using it during the winter. Take it from me. I didn’t think about my furnace once last summer and this year, I’m paying a fortune in repair bills.

My dad has always said that you get whatever you pay for in life.

I used to think that that was just something that he said.

I never really put all that much thought into it at all, but that’s probably because I was a kid. Back when I was a kid, I didn’t care all that much about things like that. Like all kids, I used to think that I was smarter than my parents most of the time and getting what you pay for wasn’t something that I cared about at all. Of course, when you’re a kid, you don’t pay for anything anyway most of the time. I have since grown into an adult and now I have a house of my own. I have decided over the past couple of years that I have been a homeowner that my dad was actually right when it comes to getting what you pay for! I have had to have several HVAC repairs done over the past couple of years at my house, and you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to hiring professional HVAC repair guys. I tried to save money once last year when my central air conditioning system broke down. I decided to hire the cheapest air conditioning repairman that I could find, but he ended up doing a terrible job on it and so I had to have it done all over again. In other words, I ended up paying twice what I should have. That’s when I realized that my dad was right all along. You should just go ahead and pay up front for quality work from people like HVAC technicians. If you don’t, then you end up having to pay even more in the long run.
