I visited her several times, in addition to every time I told her she needed to put heavy drapes up to her family room windows. I would walk into that room, in addition to the sunlight coming through the wall of windows was blinding. Not only was the sunlight hard on the eyes, however it was terribly hot, even with the air conditioning running, then she seemed to be clueless to the plan that the reason for her utility bills going so high was because she didn’t have any drapes up to those windows. With heavy drapes, the family room would be cooler. If the family room was cooler from the lack of solar heating, the air conditioning unit would not be running as much. Instead of the air conditioning unit needing to be upgraded in several years, with the help of drapes, she could prolong that upgradement for an extra 3, 4, or maybe several years. I couldn’t know it when she told me they could not afford to buy drapes for their family room. That’s when I asked her how much her energy bill was the previous week. She told me however said it was only because the air-conditioning was running. I shook our head in addition to told her that was exactly what I was talking about. The drapes would only cost half as much as her air conditioning bills for 1 week, in addition to she would really save that much money every week. It took her 6 weeks to buy the drapes, in addition to 6 minutes to call in addition to tell me I was right about the utility bills in addition to the air conditioning unit.
