Cleaning the ductwork really isn’t usually necessary

If you really think about it, cleaning your ductwork really isn’t usually all that necessary.

The ductwork in your ventilation system is a closed circuit.

That means that there is really no way for dust or dirt to get inside of it most of the time. As a general rule, the interior of your air ducts should be spotlessly clean most of the time. The only time that I would say that this is not the case would be when you were doing some kind of home improvement project or something like that. If you have a whole lot of sawdust, drywall dust, or some other kind of fine dust, then that stuff is probably going to get sucked into your HVAC system and make its way through your ventilation system. What you will find is that you get a fresh layer of that dust every single time your heating or cooling system kicks on and this can be a huge pain. If you’re someone who likes to keep a really clean house, then you are definitely going to hate having your heating or cooling system run after you have a home renovation! You can clean it and clean it, and the dust just keeps coming back every single time your furnace or air conditioner kicks on. This happened to us a couple of years ago when we did a remodeling job on our great room. I felt like I was never going to be able to stop cleaning up dust in our house. Every single time that I would wake up in the morning, there would be a fresh layer of it everywhere. That’s when I ended up getting my ductwork professionally cleaned and it was worth every penny.
