We told him money was no object, but we were wrong.

I learned a long time ago that you should always watch how you say things.

My parents told me that if you didn’t mean what you said, you shouldn’t have said it.

When the HVAC technician was talking about the new HVAC system, he asked us about our budget. I didn’t mean for him to only look at the high end HVAC systems. I told him money was no object, but I soon found out how wrong I was. He didn’t show us a single HVAC system that was within our budget, even if we borrowed the money. I told him I wanted energy efficiency and heating and cooling efficiency. I want something with a high SEER, but not so we couldn’t afford to run the HVAC equipment. The tech told us he several systems that may be what we liked, but we couldn’t afford it, and I told him. When I said money was no object, that didn’t mean I wanted to get the Mercedes Benz of HVAC. I was okay with a Toyota, or a Subaru. They got excellent mileage, had amazing safety standards, and lasted much longer than other cars. He laughed when I put it in car model words and changed tactics. He showed us an HVAC system that had all the bells and whistles, all the safety features, and efficiency I wanted, and it was more like a Honda in price. He found exactly what I wanted. Not only was the HVAC system efficient, but it had a lifespan of up to twenty-five years. My wife and I were sure it was going to be perfect for us.
