When it comes to buying air filters for my central heating and air conditioning system unit I always like to get a deal and go as cheap as I can.
Well, that was a big mistake on my part.
I finally found this out when I bought these ultra cheap air filters last time that nearly killed my central heating and air conditioning system. Because they were so cheap they needed to be changed not just once a month like I was used to, but every other week! I am not kidding you! That is how awful these were. One time I forgot about this and it nearly made my central heating and air conditioning system unit work overtime causing an HVAC breakdown. I had to call the local heat and a/c company to send out a certified heating and air conditioning specialist to repair my central heating and air conditioning system. After this I am now buying nothing but HEPA brand air filters for my central heat and a/c unit! I will spend the extra money to get quality air filters of the HEPA brand. HEPA air filters can last in your central heating and air conditioning system up to 2 months at least before you have to change them. This in the long term saves money! Also with HEPA brand air filters it makes the indoor air quality of your home so much better than with the cheap air filters I used to buy. It is not quite like having a whole home air purification system, but I would say that it is a close second runner up.
