I’ve been trying to talk the owner of the dry cleaner into switching to my HVAC business. The guy has seven dry cleaning shops in the county and they are all serviced by the same professional HVAC company. I’ve known the guy for a while and I’ve been trying to get him to switch to using my services. I meant Jack at the links on Saturday and we played a round of golf. I joked around about the winter getting to choose who he uses for HVAC services. He knew that I was joking around, but the guy also knows that I would do just about anything to earn his business. I dropped my prices 10% and I also changed my policy from 60 to a 90 day payment plan in order to meet all of his service needs. When it started raining on the 5th hole, I knew there was no way that we were going to finish the rest of the course. I suggested we go into the lounge and have a couple of beers. Jack thought that was a good idea too. We spent the afternoon getting completely drunk. By 3:00, I was ready for an Uber to take me home. We took Jack back to the laundromat first and dropped him and his clubs off. That’s when he said that we earned his business. He told me to drop off the contracts in the morning.
