My Grandma Pat and her fireplace

There is no other place our Grandma Pat would rather be in her cabin than beside the fireplace… You can find Pat just enjoying her tea.

This woman likes the heat.

If my associate and I are at our place, or road stops at a hotel, motel or wherever you can find Pat blasting the dial thermostat at a minimum of 76 degrees. As Pat got older she got colder and with that coldness, the thermostat heater settings kept increasing. So basically each year she aged, the temperature increased by 1 degree. Basically, if Pat hits 90, that will be the temperature of the room she will be sitting in. I for sure won’t be staying in the same room as her if that happens. I’m struggling now and it’s set to 75 degrees. I barely handle this even though I try to endure and deal with it since Pat is our Grandma. The only problem is periodically I stay the night and a friend comes with myself and others and my associate and I just play cards with Pat, every friend gets a little emotional due to the heat and wants to leave. Honestly, I can’t really blame them. If I wasn’t used to it and if Pat wasn’t our Grandma, I’d be legitimately emotional about the whole thing as well, when Pat sits in her chair in front of the fireplace she just sips her tea, hums some tunes and smiles. I love that Pat is comfortable and enjoying her time in front of the fireplace. At times Pat falls asleep in her chair while I’m over and I’ll throw in a couple of logs to keep the fire blazing. I like seeing her so content.
