My partner and I were still settling into our new house when it started getting warmer.
Our plan had been to unpack, arrange the house, and then we’d begin repairs.
There were many things we wanted to improve in the house. We’d consulted with a general contractor about all the work. Her suggestion was to get the house done first, then we’d move in. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible for us. Our lease was up in our previous home, and we didn’t want to rent a place for a month or two. We’d rather deal with workers in the house doing the upgrades. The contractor understood our predicament, and she promised to find ways to make the experience good for us. We also wanted a new HVAC system installed in the house. There was an HVAC system when we purchased the house that was holding on for dear life. So, we planned to replace it by June when it gets quite hot. However, May surprised all of us by being warmer than usual. We found ourselves dealing with 80F weather in the middle of May. so, we chose to move forward with the HVAC installation. So, both the general contractor and the HVAC professional were in our home. It was chaotic, to say the least. And we wished we had another place to stay as the work was ongoing, but we were also grateful it would soon be over. The biggest thing was buying the house, and finding reliable companies to hire. Soon, we would be living in a lovely house with excellent AC.
