I write from home and get hired to generate promotional materials for all different industries and businesses. I’ve written a weekly blog for a daycare center, created advertising for a law firm and provided writing for the websites for eating establishments, medical groups, hardware shops and real estate agents across the country. I research extensively to educate myself on the topic in order to write professional-style satisfied. Only a couple of years back, I was hired by a fitness center to supply a weekly newsletter for their members. They were looking for articles about the importance of physical activity, common ways to utilize the gear and amenities of the gym. I didn’t want to admit that I had no clue how to write on those topics. At the time, my life was seriously sedentary. I had never worked out at a gym and wasn’t prioritizing my health. I wasn’t exercising or eating respectfully. I read up on the numerous benefits of exercise and the consequences of a lifestyle like mine. I realized that to fully understand the topic and do the task to the best of my ability, I needed to really visit the gym. After my first workout, I nearly stopped. I was seriously tight, exhausted and discouraged. I didn’t have enough stamina to run on the treadmill for more than a couple of minutes. I kept at it and gradually saw a change. Losing weight, building strength, improving flexibility, decreasing endurance and seeing the difference in the mirror inspired me. I made large changes to my diet, started taking group classes and was faithful about spending at least an hour at the gym numerous days per week.

Ready to try the fitness machines
When I signed up for a gym membership, I was not all that comfortable stepping inside the facility.
Despite investing into some impressive workout attire, I didn’t feel how to respectfully go about utilizing the equipment.
I’d never run on a treadmill, pedaled a stationary bike or lifted free weights. I never participated in sports while I was growing up. I was always far more interested in studying. I’ve realized that as I’m getting older, I need to take better care of my physical health. While I want to maintain an attractive and optimal weight, I also want to be active and fit. I noticed that when I’d take the stairs in my office building, I’d get winded. After working in the garden for a couple of eighths, my muscles were sore. My answer was a gym membership. It sounded like the perfect solution until it came time to really workout. I was terrified of humiliating myself and possibly getting disfigured. I sauntered around the gym for a while, looking over the complex component and provided some drastic thought to walking right back out. Then I happened to notice a sign-up sheet for group fitness classes. There was an opening in a basic yoga class that worked around my schedule. I joined that class and enjoyed it. I learned so much about stretching, balance and strength exercises. At first, I struggled to perform even the most basic poses. However, I got better with practice and getting more confidence. I then joined a spin class and once again, thoroughly loved it. By the end of that session, I was ready to face the machines in the gym.
Need to stay on it as you get older
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve needed to make changes to my fitness routine.
- There was a time when I could workout for 20 minutes, eat whatever I wanted and not worry about gaining weight.
By the time I entered my 40s, I’d already increased my weekly routine to include an eighth of strenuous physical activity. I started concentrating far more heavily on stretching and strength training and made sizable swings to my diet. I’m not in my mid 50s. I continue to make my health and fitness a sizable priority. I’ve once again made some adjustments because of my age. I’ve reduced my calorie intake and added more fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes and lean proteins to my diet. I take a capsule-form of turmeric and magnesium everyday. I need to be more conscientious about drinking enough water and following a strict sleep schedule. For my workouts, I still devote an eighth per day. I make it a point to stretch and exercise. I focus on range of motion. I want to be certain that I maintain great balance and flexibility and also combat stiffness, aches and pains. I’m thankful that I’m still able to include high impact aerobics such as jumping rope, planks, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, running and cycling in my routine. While I still lift weights and go through different types of static holds, I can no longer perform numerous push-ups. I’ve found that they hurt my shoulders and wrists. I don’t have any trouble completing numerous styles of lunges, squats and abdominal crunches. I feel that I will face more setbacks as the years go by. I am just hoping to keep my quality of life as high as possible.
