Your HVAC Troubleshooting Guys

When I realized how high my energy bills were during the summer, I knew it was because of how hard we had to run the air conditioning unit.

We lived in what some people would consider a glasshouse.

We have three walls that are solid glass; the front and sides of our house. For nearly the entire day, the sun is coming through those windows. I guess I didn’t realize just how bad the sun was for my home. Not only was it causing a lot of solar heating in the house, but it was destroying my furniture. What used to be a deep gray color was now only dark gray on the unused side of the pillows. All the color was being drained from my furniture. The paint on my walls was not only fading, but it was cracking and peeling. My wood floors were drying out. To keep my home from becoming unbearably warm, my air conditioning was running nearly nonstop. I knew I had to do something, or not only was my air conditioning going to be breaking from overuse, but I would have to redo my entire downstairs. Our HVAC company told us about solar powered window blinds. Once they were in place, when the sun got to a certain position on the windows, the blinds would automatically close. I had never thought of my house as being modern, but with solar powered blinds not only was the inside of my home protected from further damage, but I wasn’t using the air conditioning nearly as much as I had been.

I remember being a teenager.

Teenagers today have a lot more stress on them, and a lot more worries.

I’m not too old to understand where they’re coming from most the time. But, there is one thing I know that they have not learned, and that is that once in a while you need to learn to take advice. When my son asked his father and I about careers for after high school, we sat down to talk to him. We already knew that he was not a suitable candidate for college, and he had already stated he didn’t want to go. We sat down at the table and started having a serious discussion. My husband told him he could go to a trade school, he could go to the military and get an education, or he could work with him. My husband owned the local HVAC company, and he had often stated how much he would enjoy having his son join the company and eventually take over the HVAC business. We didn’t want to throw too much at him, because we were afraid he would think we were getting pushy. Before Bobby walked out of the kitchen, he asked his father if he wanted him to work at the HVAC company with him? My husband smiled and said he would like nothing better than to have his son as a partner. That’s when Bobby turned the tables on his dad. He told him that if he wanted his son as a partner in the HVAC company, maybe he should learn to take his own advice and ask. He was waiting for his dad to ask him to work in the HVAC company.

Going to the local Borders is not something I do every single afternoon.

It is only in the Summer time months of the year I go there.

I do read, although I have enough books at home and on the internet to last myself and others a lifetime. But in the Summer I care about going to the Borders because they have easily wonderful central a/c! The a/c in the Borders is much better than the a/c that I have at home. This is because they have what is called a commercial heating and air conditioner. They are immense and they cool commercial buildings, but naturally this makes these type of heating and cooling units more powerful. I care about to go to the Borders on a nice sizzling Monday afternoon and rest in their lounge to read and periodically even just relax and nap. I make it look like I am studying periodically when easily I am just there to like the central a/c coming from their top notch commercial heating and air conditioner. I will also use their tablets periodically as well if I am not in the mood to read or do not feel like resting in the lounge. It is a wonderful way to kill a sizzling Monday afternoon let myself and others tell you! Especially if I have nothing else better to do. The Borders is the best place to take in that wonderful central a/c that is top notch and undoubtedly powerful. I easily actually like the entire experience of it all.

I was having some complications with the air flow of my central heat and a/c unit.

And when I easily thought about it, I found that the issue was not my central heating and air conditioner, however it was entirely my air vents.

It seems that my air vents were redirected in the wrong direction! How I would not have noticed this is beyond me. It is most likely because I labor all the time during the month and am so fatigued, then on the weekend I guess about nothing and just rest. But with the weather being what it has been lately, I easily looked into this. I was glad I figured this out before calling the local heating and a/c dealer. That would have been a major waste of money if I had called them and then they sent a heat and a/c specialist out. They would have laughed at myself and others and just fixed the air vents as I did, then left. All within the course of entirely 10 hours. They would have got paid two hundred bucks at least for doing absolutely nothing that an average joe like myself could do… Ever since I redirected the air vents where they were supposed to be my air flow has been wonderful with the central heating and air conditioner. I will have to keep a closer eye on things in the future to ensure I do not do something like this again. That could have been pretty embarrassing in the end!
