I had a ductless mini split unit installed in my sunroom and I love it.

The ductless mini split system keeps my sunroom heated and cooled to the perfect temperature and it makes the space more usable.

I didn’t want to be another household that had a sunroom that sat untouched due to improper heat and air. Sunrooms are designed to let in a lot of natural sunlight, which means the space tends to be naturally warmer. During the summer months, this creates an uncomfortable problem. The ductless mini split system keeps my sunroom so comfortable that I keep it running most days. Since I’m at home a lot and I can use the sunroom often, I like for it to be kept comfortable and ready to use. The ductless mini split system doesn’t take long to heat and cool the sunroom, but it’s nice to have it running. What I didn’t know though, was that a ductless mini split system needed maintenance just like my central HVAC system. When the HVAC professional was at my house in order to service my HVAC system before the winter, he looked at the ductless mini split system and told me that he’d take a look at it. I watched as he took some pieces off and pulled out a dirty air filter. He asked if I had another air filter to replace it with, but I didn’t. I had no idea that ductless mini split units had air filters! I’m so glad he took the time to look at the ductless mini split unit and warn me about the air filter.

Air conditioning maintenance

It’s not absolutely running the air conditioner however the fan, that is what I do in the Winter time instead of running the heat.

I like to sleep in a actually chilly room so what I do is open all of the windows in the master bedroom plus lavatory since the air handler is in the lavatory so the chilly air comes in plus circulates throughout the house. I just run the fan since it is cheaper than the A/C plus the cool evening air cools me down quite nicely. I don’t open the window in our bedroom at evening because the bar behind me is actually loud with get togethering monkees until about 2am. I put up a sound proof insulating foam contraption outside our bedroom window to block even more of the noise because it still makes its way through our double pane window plus the sound of our air conditioner’s colorless noise. I also wear earplugs to split out the noise plus I have a small fan on our bed, which vibrates the bed plus lulls me to sleep. I live in a Spanish neighborhood plus asking people to be quiet while they are get togethering is a lost cause. This is a get together town with a lot of free spirits plus I am a single of them. I need to clean our ductwork this weekend because I have been sneezing a lot plus suspect that they are filled with dust again. I need to buy a HEPA filter a single of these afternoons as soon as I measure the new a single.

Today is the first afternoon of the Carnaval celebration and this will be our first year experiencing it firsthand without any covid restrictions.

I suppose there will be an extra 10,000 people in our town later today so I better like the peace while it lasts. It is eerily quiet here right now, I assume like all of us are going to get hit by a tidal wave of people soon. I like the influx of energy and the craziness for a little while. It will all be over on Tuesday so it’s only for a few afternoons. I can finally turn off our central heat in the afternoon now that all of us have turned the corner with the weather. It looks like all of us have about 60 F each afternoon for the next more than one weeks with lows around 48 F. I may absolutely need to run our a/c because our little study room gets quite tepid at evening. I could consistently open the window in our study room but with Carnaval going on now there will be a lot of noise until the wee minutes of the afternoon. I like to run our fan on our central a/c to help keep the air scrub in our flat as I installed a HEPA filter in it a few months ago and it works so well. I have a ppm meter to measure the air quality and it is showing myself and others that our air is in the ideal range now. I’m glad that I don’t need to buy a whole lake house media air cleaner since all of our money is in cryptos.

We have a bunch of party people coming to town this weekend to liven up our small quiet beach town for a few afternoons.

It starts today, which is Tuesday, and goes through till Tuesday next week.

I suppose it is Mardi Gras time in the states so this is our version over here on the southern Spanish coast of a beautiful country close to the French mountains separating the more than one countries. I welcome all of the absurd people coming here and am a bit gleeful to see their costumes and watch their absurd antics. If it gets too much I’ll retreat to our air conditioned flat which is quiet and far away from all of the chaos. I live in the center of the village on a quiet street so it’s fantastic that I can be lake house in a few minutes to a quiet sanctuary. My central heat and air component acts as a colorless noise generator drowning out all of the sounds from outside. The only noise it doesn’t block out totally is the sound of fireworks that all of us sometimes have in this town. Spanish people seem to love their fireworks, but their dogs assume a bit differently about it. A lot of people live here without air conditioning in the summers and I have no idea how they sleep at evening when the temperature outside is 90 F! I tried it a single summer time with more than one fans blowing on myself and others and I was consistently waking up in a pool of sweat. Hopefully, all of us live and all of us learn as all of us age in life. That’s how it’s post to be, right? Haha. Yeah, I said post to be.
