My mom is always doing all of her complaining to me about my dad and how he tries to fix things at their house.

FIx-it, but he’s really not at all. My dad actually doesn’t know anything at all about fixing things around the house. He doesn’t know how to fix cars either. I don’t know why he operates under the constant delusion that he does know how to fix things, but he usually ends up tearing them up worse than they were to begin with.This is something that drives my mother absolutely crazy. She always tells him to just go ahead and call the repairman, but he always wants to try and fix things himself. The last time that this happened, they were dealing with a broken central air conditioning system. The weather is really heating up around here right now and the outside temperatures have been in the high 70s. My parents decided to turn on the central air conditioning for the first time this year, and that’s when they noticed that there was something wrong with it. My mother messed around with their thermostat unit for a while but she couldn’t get the A/C to come on. That’s when my dad started yelling that he was too hot and he grabbed his tools and headed down to the basement. That’s also when my poor mom grabbed the phone and called me to tell me that he was doing it again! I immediately called the HVAC company and sent an HVAC technician over to their house. I didn’t want to have to deal with my mom complaining about my dad anymore!

My wife is really strict about our budget these days because she wants to buy a new car.

When my wife gets it in her head that she wants to do something, then she really buckles down and tries to get it done fast. Once she makes up her mind about something, you might as well just get out of her way. That’s how it was when we bought our new house, and that’s how it is now that she has decided that she wants to get a new car. She is a very determined woman. Honestly, I think that’s how she ended up getting me to ask her to marry me. She got her heart set on it and she just made it happen. Anyway, she has really tightened up the purse strings so that she can save up enough money to get this new car that she wants. My problem with this is the fact that she is trying to make me change the type of air filters that I use in our HVAC system. I have used the same kind of expensive HEPA air filters for our HVAC system for four years now, and we have never had one single problem with our HVAC system. I’m a firm believer that the type of air filters that you use in your HVAC system determines how well your HVAC system treats you. If you use a cheap air filter, the indoor air quality in your house is not going to be as good. Class, you’re going to get lots of extra dust and contaminants inside of your HVAC system that you would not have otherwise.

I’m really not a handyman, but for some reason all of these women from a dating site seem to think that I am.

I am beginning to wonder if I accidentally clicked something that I shouldn’t have when I was filling out the forms on my profile. Some of the profile sections will ask you what your employment status is or where you work. I am a contractor, but I work on computer systems. I have absolutely nothing to do with heating and cooling systems at all. Now that I think about it, though, the checkbox for HVAC technician might have been really close to the checkbox for computer contracting! I may have actually made a mistake because a lot of women seem to think that I know what I’m doing when it comes to their furnaces and air conditioning systems. Honestly, I don’t know anything at all about my own heating and cooling system, much less someone else’s! If I accidentally made a mistake on the employment section of the questionnaire, then that would probably make sense because the last two dates that I have been on have been really weird. Before we even got our appetizers at dinner, both of these women were asking me questions about their digital thermostats and something called a ductless mini split air conditioning system. I just don’t think that conversations like that can possibly be a coincidence! Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think so. I am afraid that these women went out with me because they were hoping for some free HVAC advice or something.

It’s been so loud in here lately because of my faulty furnace that I can barely get any work done.

I think that it must have been a very gradual thing, because I didn’t even notice it at first. Then, one day when I was trying to work, I noticed that the furnace was making this weird whirring sound. Maybe it hadn’t been doing it for very long, but I suspect that the noise has been building up over the past couple of weeks. I just happened to notice it on that day because I was on a work call and suddenly I realized that I could not hear very well. At first I thought it was the connection of the call itself, but then I realized it was all of the background noise in my own house. The only thing that was running was the furnace, and when I turned off the furnace, that’s when I noticed how quiet my house had suddenly become. Now, over the past few days,whenever I turn the heating system on, the noise gets louder and louder. My furnace has now basically turned into a dull roar whenever I try to heat up my house. It is super frustrating for me because I am not a person who can get anything done when I am distracted by background noises. My work is really suffering because of all of these furnace issues. I think that I am going to have to call up my local heating and cooling supplier to have them come out and do something about this furnace issue.
