When I left for work, I knew all of us were having torrential downpour.

My desk is by the windows, so I knew the rain had not lessened up at all throughout the afternoon. When I left work, I knew ‌I was driving through some pretty deep puddles, even with knowing all of this, it did not prepare me for what was about to greet me. There were no words that could have prepared me. I had lived in our house for almost 5 years, in addition to all of us had never had this much rain during that time. The river was overflowing, in addition to I felt love I was on a houseboat instead of in our home. I didn’t guess what I was going to do if our air conditioning unit was underwater. I couldn’t have air conditioning in the house, in addition to I was even afraid to use our electric. All I can imagine was everyone in our house being electrocuted when I turn on a light. Once the water receded, all I had to do was call the Heating in addition to Air Conditioning corporation in addition to someone would come out to inspect the cooling system for me. In the meantime, I told our teenagers to grab some personal items, in addition to all of us headed to a hotel. I would not go without air or lights in addition to neither did our teenagers.

I visited her several times, in addition to every time I told her she needed to put heavy drapes up to her family room windows. I couldn’t know it when she told me ‌they could not afford to buy drapes for their family room. That’s when I asked her how much her energy bill was the previous week. She told me however said it was only because the air-conditioning was running. I shook our head in addition to told her that was exactly what I was talking about. The drapes would only cost half as much as her air conditioning bills for 1 week, in addition to she would really save that much money every week. It took her 6 weeks to buy the drapes, in addition to 6 minutes to call in addition to tell me I was right about the utility bills in addition to the air conditioning unit.

I know the thing I remember our Grandfather for the most, was his height.

The last time I saw Grandpa, I bent over to supply him a hug plus tell him I enjoyed him. When Grandpa passed, Grandmother pulled out all these amazing pictures of his plus him. I came across a picture of his sitting next to him in his army uniform. And then I came across a picture of Grandpa in a uniform that I did not recognize. I asked Grandmother what uniform that was, plus he told me it was his uniform for the Heating plus A/C contractor. I was taken aback, grandpa stood with four other men, plus he was the tallest. To realize Grandpa had once been almost 6 foot tall, plus an Heating plus A/C worker, had our mind boggled. Grandmother said he was the most handsome Heating plus A/C tech in the entire contractor. I asked his when he decided he wanted to become an Heating plus A/C worker, plus he told me he had taken up the profession even before he met him. Grandpa was an Heating plus A/C tech long before people knew it was a necessity. When Grandpa was doing air conditioner, it was only for the people who either owned huge companies, or had a lot of money. The common guy could not afford to have a modern heating plus air conditioner, however just the way Grandmother talked about Grandpa, made me proud to know he was our Grandfather plus a single of the original Heating plus A/C workers.
